I'm another one just hoping to get through the next month at the moment

Once we're through Christmas, I intend to start saving Quidco money, pigsback points, survey money towards next Christmas.

I dont want to feel like this again :o
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

  • Definately Moozies, as its keeping me on the straight and narrow, the Olympics to generate more cash, and definately up for a saivngs challenge...... even if I can't spell the darn word!

The only thing I would say about saving for Christmas is that I save all year round in a seperate bank account and by buying throughout the year, I have had some total bargains, like the Fisher Price play centre I bought my niece, £5 reduced from £30, last August.

By not touching your savings until Christmas you are leaving yourself open to some of the ridiculous prices charged in shops at this time of year.

If you're just going to use it as extra party cash then fair enough, but if you're planning to buy presents you would be better banking it in a basic account every month if you can.

My own personal challenge is to extend this to the rest of my life and not buy anything ever again that I do not have the cash in my hand or bank account to pay for.

I'm in Mumzy .... don't think I can stick to the £1's though, I seem to get loads and I'd be forever going to the cash machine to get another note out then putting half of it in the pot :D How about we just make it a "sealed pot for 12 months" challenge, and we can all save whatever we think we can stick to, whether its £1's / pennies / all change in our purse on a friday evening etc .... ?? :D Think I will go and write to Santa now and ask for a terramundi as if I use a normal piggy bank I know I'll be too tempted and would count it ;):D

I'd like to join a challenge, but have pretty much failed in all but the first challenge (the first olympic challenge)!!

I think I'm going to buy presents from a set budget throughout the year and then I can take advantage of offers etc and use all the vouchers etc from surveys for this reason.
Will keep an eye on the things I can achieve tho! Hopefully a challenge will call to me lol

  • I will have to say Ill go for another olympic challenge! the olympic challenges and the money for nothing challenge (around this time last year when I joined mse) have made me almost £800!

Although my challenges will have to take a backseat until may next year, as i am fundraising for The National Autistic Society so a lot of my time will be dedicated to this, I hope to take part in next years challenges!

I think any challenges are great as they make us think about what we are spending and help us all save in whatever way we can!! :)
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!
