    1. all the gold coins
    2. all the bronze coins
    3. all the 2 euros i get..and you get loads out here :p
    4. all the refund money i get back when i return the bottles etc to the supermarket
    5. and me n hubby put 1euro in each for every 1lb i lose :D
But im sure there is room for another challenge... i find it much easier when im aiming for something...

for people who may be interested in the compact group mentioned above. Great in principle but I think I'd just be exhausted on top of trying to pay debts off...great idea though!

I want to start my own organised loose change challenge so that I can measure the amount saved over the year and bank it regularly. I have a sealed tin at the moment but grudge the (probably tiny) amount of interest it could be accumulating. I like the idea of a series of coin banks, which would make the counting (and banking) easier.

  • Hiya,

I plan to carry on with the £2 savers club if it is going next year; I have also joined Mumzy's sealed pot challenge and I am also aiming to raise £1k by Dec 08 by any means possible.

As for Christmas, I plan to make it even easier (if I can) and whittle my presents budget now even more.

My 2008 challenge is to clear £15000 off the capital of my debt by the end of the year. Will do the figures on 1st Jan and work out targets from there.

I will also be doing the sealed pot challenge but not until 1st January. I am asking for a Terramundi for Christmas so will make a start once I have it!

The Olympic challenge is always a good one to do - real motivation and excellent for ideas! Although I won't be officially signing up this time, I will be basically doing this challenge to help towards my big £15k one!

I generally fail with the grocery challenges and moozies daily one - so will endeavour to try harder with the whole budgetting thing next year too!! This will be easier once I have my new job with a regular salary coming in!

Ooh never heard of a terramundi before this thread - thats definately going on my Chrimby List!

I am going to attempt to clear 12k off my debt through the next year but will join mini challenges as they crop up as I find these easier to focus on!

  • I just had to google terramundi lol. What a great idea, but I'd hate to break it at the end of the year, they' so lovely! I suppose that's what makes you save longer though. Excellent idea.

  • A few people were planning on doing a "Free Christmas 2008" challenge, basically by putting aside money and vouchers from daily clicks, survey sites etc and loking for bargains such as 3 for 2 etc

A board for it hasn't been set up yet though

    I LOVE this idea! :j

i was thinking of doing a make half your salary from nothing over the next year challenge. i dont know how feasable it wopuld be but thought it could be worth a a go as to me that would clear loads of debt and really bring forward my DFD. was thinking of doing iot through amazon ebay carboots and things like slice the pie and daily clicks. dont know if anyone fancies joining me on a year long challeng to earn half your salary from other things?
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed
