  • I never recieved an atol certificate with my booking. It’s says I will receive it 28 days before travel which is June 2020
  • A very simple query - if flights are more expensive elsewhere, are the credit card company liable under S75 for the additional cost?
I assume so, but thought I'd check. :)
  • Hi, we had a package holiday booked with Thomas cook leaving on Wednesday. It was paid a third on my credit card, a third on my wife's credit card and a third cash. Which would be the best way to pursue a refund, via section 75 on one of the credit cards or wait for ATOL to release the forms?

So we booked through On the Beach to go to Tenerife in February with Thomas Cook flights. On the Beach are offering to cover us booking flights costing up to £50 pp extra compared to the original flights. I can find flights close to that, but am I better holding off and waiting for them to rebook us as they are obligated to? There are plenty of flights on budget airlines to and from Tenerife and we are not flying peak dates so presumably they should be able to rebook us easily?

If they rebook you, then presumably you then have an atol protected holiday. If you book flights, will those flights be protected?

I would doubt it. Your credit card refunds you because you weren't provided with the goods/ service that you paid for. It isn't obliged to reprovide the goods or service.

  • Just got off phone to Disney who aren’t 100% sure what’s happening. We booked park tickets through TC, we’ve rebooked the holiday but are holding back on the park tickets. They’re saying that as we have our “Will Call” tickets and passes then our tickets are paid for and we won’t need new ones. But what’s worrying me is if they’ll be cancelled before we go out and the ATOL claim goes in. Or will ATOL just refund the holiday cost if we use the park tickets?

When are you due to go to Disney? We had booked through TC for next April and just assumed the whole booking would be cancelled.
Could see what was on the cards and gambled rebooking yesterday with a small deposit in case of price hikes, was a good gamble as our dates are now £1k more with no direct flights.
Can 'see' our tickets & hotel reservation on the my Disney app but assumed at some point they would disappear and we'd be able to add our new booking. We'd only paid a deposit to TC so far so can't see that they will have paid the full balance to Disney yet and as our contract was with TC not Disney they won't come chasing us for the money will they? Worried we might end up paying twice for trying to save our selves some money!

If your contract was with TC there is no one to chase you!

Iv booked replacement flights already (altho nearly £1800 more) going on the basis well defo get the original flight price back and then appeal to get the additional cost back under section 75 as it was on credit card and they are obliged to cover consequential loss.
  • I have been paying via direct debits for our now cancelled holiday next year. I am Atol protected but I can’t find a form to fill in to complete a refund? I hope someone can help, Thank you
