The only complication could be if you bought the policy through TC at time of booking the original holiday and TC haven't yet paid Explorer for the policy.

My understanding is that LYK is owned by Wirecard, a separate German payments provider. So your money is held by them and not by TC. You should be safe. All the airlines and holiday companies that have gone bust over the last few year always seem to do it early Monday morning after a weekend of trading. Some might say very cynical to do it after your two busiest trading days of the week;)0

TUI sometime use TC flights. If your TUI holiday has TC flights then they will either refund or find alternatives flights0

Purely a coincidence with Monarch as their ATOL certificate ran out on the 31st October ,which was a Sunday.0 -
Hi. We bought our package holiday, including flights, through TUI but they have used Thomas Cook for the flights - ATOL Certificate is with TUI. TUI has told us that our holiday has been cancelled because of TC's sad demise and will refund us. We paid for extras on the flight, which we had to do through TC's website. Should TUI refund that for us or do we need to do something else?0
