    Morning all and welcome Narola
HK - Families and Christmas!! My wanting to change ours is after a falling out with my sister, we are on friendly terms again but its not how it was and I don't want it to go back to how it was so this seems the perfect time to change our routines :) I hope your Christmas goes well.

Its a lovely sunny day here again :)

Dh is working from home which saves fuel (and 3hrs!)

We are out to a comedy show tonight at the theatre, booked it ages ago so no additional spends for this as we'll eat at home before we go and take drink with us and maybe something for the interval.

Two sessions at the gym and refilled water bottle done

Wash two loads on the quick 30 degree wash and hang on the line done

Iron the shirts if they dry in time done

Check banking/update spreadsheet - pay for ds2s guitar lesson and transfer some money to the kids accounts done, done and done

See if I can open the regular saver - I know I said I'd do it yesterday but when I tried it kept saying we already had one (we do but its closed) Will have to pop into branch I think

Try to get dh out for a little walk at lunchtime done

Make meals for the freezer...thinking chilli done, spag bol done and a chicken pie filling done ** a butternut squash, coconut milk and chili soup too - new recipe and it got a thumbs up from Mr Lucky :)

Right better crack on! Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Good Evening Everyone

Sounds like a very productive week for lots of you. DH and I are back now from our little break to Filey, we had a wonderful time with absolutely fabulous weather - no coats or jackets needed, little money spent and almost no screen time, felt strange leaving DS home alone but he was fine and definitely doing wonders for his confidence and home/life skills (I think he's hoping we'll plan more trips). Today we will/have:

Washing & Line Dry - Done
    RM Survey Prepped - Done
    Swagbucks - Done
    Purge a few emails -
    Enter comps -
    All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer -
Checked: Lucky Bob, PMP, WinaDinner -
    Read Book -
    Headspace app before bed -

    Have a great evening!

    Evening all :)
Just catching up on everyone's news after a couple of days away camping. Lovely days, but chilly nights. Thought of Foxgloves falling through her tent (not sure if she mentioned it on here, or in her diary?), well I didn't fall through it, but a bl**dy horse has ripped our camper van awning  Not sure if it is going to need a professional and no doubt expensive repair, but OH reckons he will have a go at fixing it. Trouble is, it is in a difficult place, where a peg thing goes into one of the poles to hold it together at the bottom (I hope I don't need a professional repair, as I am not very good at describing it, am I?) Anyway, we will go to the camping shop next week and see what they have repairs materials wise, and if they have any recommendations for professionals.

Apart from the horse incident, it WOULD have been a cheap couple of days away. We took all our own food, just succumbed to a portion of chips on the beach one lunchtime :)
Frantic unloading / putting away / cleaning stuff in progress
Actually came back with a bit more than we went with :o, OH went to the bins with some rubbish, opened the lid, and someone had chucked in a barbeque and water container that appeared to have been used just for the one trip and then dumped  So they came out of the bin and home with us. They need cleaning obvs, and the bbq is only a cheap one, but it seemed so wasteful just to throw things away like that  Needless to say we already have a bbq, but this one is on a stand, so a nice height, whereas ours is low to the ground and not kind to my knees!

Ditty, hope you are ok, take care :( Likewise DNMS.
HK, you sound very busy, are you giving yourself time to recover from your surgery (I know I am the very worst person to nag :rotfl:but your surgery sounded a lot more drastic than mine, which really just involved the removal of some bits I don't need any more!
Nice to see that Brown eyed girl is still with us, and welcome to Narola - as DNMS said, some of us have been moaning away on here for years, so do feel free to join in :)
Back with a proper list tomorrow!
  • Morning frugal pals :hello:

The cat and I are just chilling on the sofa before the rest of the house wakes. I've just out a load of washing on to get ahead only to find the one I did overnight had a tissue in it  there will be lots of shaking of items outside when I go to bed the out in a bit :p

    Other things today:
More use up out of freezer for tea/ lunch update inventory
Look online again for chicken, will do this daily until the wonky chicken I normally order is back in stock (much cheaper than the non wonky version and I'm not precious on shape when I mostly cut it up anyway :rotfl:)
Make lemon curd, have recycled jars
Make a cake probably with raspberries in it as we have lots from the garden
Clean 1 room. Did some of upstairs yesterday so it's not looking too bad
Put away some gifted clothes for smalls
    Watch film with DH tonight
Out this afternoon, probably for a nice walk somewhere, will take snacks.
Reconcile just for points credit card
Update present sheet as some gifts arrived this week

Have a good day all. Purps.
  • Morning everyone. Up at 5:30, I do so love the quiet...had interrupted sleep as awoke at 1:30 to the sound of my teen being violently sick. She thinks she may not have cooked her popcorn chicken well last night when she came in from work. No further bouts of illness so fingers crossed as she has work today too...

    * Load of washing - well on its way
    * Clean kitchen - in progress
    * Hairdresser at 9:30. Not money saving but my hair is in a poor state thinning etc, so happy to pay £10 which is not bad for a wash and blow
    * Freezer inventory and weekly meal plan before food shop today
    * Food shop after dropping daughter at work. Budget is £40 or less I hope
    * Cook dinner - pork stir fry
    * Work on a report which I have to finish for Monday

Have a good day all and thanks for the warm welcome

  • Morning all. Beautiful day here north of the border

    Already done;
    Checked banking and moved pennies
    Tablet and phone charging
    Plants checked

    To do;
    Take medication
    Tidy
Clean another bit of paintwork (there are far too many doors in this house!)
Change bedding and do washing today instead of Monday. I'll be able to get it all dried on the line.
Make a sausage casserole in the slow cooker. It might seem that we eat an awful lot of sausages but Himself went mad buying them when he saw them YS and the freezer is full of them.

Himself is going to the chemist to collect his new prescription. I hope this will help with the tiredness he's been feeling. The Boy is having some parcels delivered here so I'm waiting for the postie or whoever it is that's bringing them.

Just finishing my pot of coffee and then I'll get on,
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
