@ryanm8655 You could just tell them things really stretched with moving etc. I’m kind of surprised they don’t seem to realise that as you were with them to pay debts and now moving straight after clearing the debts. You don’t want to wind up back in debt for them 100 not worth it.

As for the 4am Tesco trip WTAF? 😆😆😆

Flat looks huge ! Though I’d have made sure it was tidy first 🤣

I’d go with the half now and half on moving

Wow! It looks lovely and spacious. Why don’t you ask the agent if there’s a Hoover. Tell them you’re making a list of what you need, although looking at that video you could get away with a mop and brush
The agent have become a bit useless since I put the offer in. Already asked these questions but the inventory is being outsourced and not happening until move in day so I’ve given up...they seem to have outsourced everything so god knows what they actually do ha.

I’m not saying buy this one but this is the kind of thingy you need for hard floors: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Laminate-Mop-Flooring-Microfibre-Duster-Cleaner-For-Wood-Static-Dust-Broom-Brush-/254086547189
plus a mop & bucket for the kitchen & bathroom.
That’s useful, thanks. Family have one of those for the kitchen. Though still end up having to hoover a lot of the time. Tbh though I’m not sure how much mess I’ll make ha. Especially as when I do go out I’ll be walking through the concierge/corridors first rather than stepping straight into the flat. So something like this would probably do!

Yeah, I’m quite surprised too. Before I was paying rent I did mention I was saving a small amount each month to give them when I left. But that changed when I started paying rent. And I’ve used any spare cash to clear my debt sooner. I’ve told them that.

Agreed on 4am Tesco trip ha. Probably partly my fault for telling them there was no veg left. Plus they wake up early anyway due to their worrying about health etc..,

Lol! Yeah, previous tenant clearly had no shame...

Merry Christmas all, hope you have a good day!

  • Merry Christmas Ryan. Remember you have been paying rent and other bits and pieces so they have no right to expect a huge amount for Christmas. Hope you enjoy your day and remember that you will be out in a week or so.

    Thanks all.

Christmas wasn’t too bad here, a nice day actually. Bloody shattered.

Didn’t drink too much, ate shedloads.

Kids are spoilt ha, don’t even bother reading who presents are from, just tear them open to see what they are. No tantrums here but some fairly underwhelmed/disappointed reactions to some pretty amazing presents, which upset the parents a bit. Things were fine in the end though. Underlines why there is no point in going overboard with kids gifts though. They’ll be getting £20 gifts next year

What kind of floors have you got in the flat, that  will dictate what kind of hoover to buy, there's absolutely no need to spend £200 on a hoover 🙀I also recommend good old Wilkos for house things. Their premium range of plates and dishes are quite nice actually
They’re all wood, no carpet so presumably means I can get away with something cheaper?
I've got a stick hoover made by Beldray that cost me £50 it's really good on hard floors,I hoover a three bedroom house with one charge, they do a more high powered one that cost slightly more 😊

  • Glad your day went well Ryan.  Totally agree on the kids presents.  We have spent the day with our DGDs who are only 5 and 2 and the 2 year old had so much bought for her she could not unwrap it all today.  She got totally overwhelmed with it all so still has another pile to open tomorrow much to the 5 year olds indignation as she has opened all hers in double quick time.  They were both pleased with what they got though but easier when they are little.
