Didn't have the swede after all because it just wouldn't cook! It's still on now - been on for about 40 minutes and it's been cut really small but needs more cooking!

Hoping it will be cooked shortly and then I'll use it tomorrow and stir it into the butternut squash and sweet potato curry from the freezer.

I've had that problem with swede too Denise . At one time I did the microwave 'singing swede' to get round it. Now I do my swede and carrots mash in advance and make about 4 portions at a time and freeze them so not fussed how long it takes.

Lovely SW friendly food pics from you as ever bubbs . When I saw the pics from Sleazy earlier I thought, for a minute, that it was part of your new meal plan. Probably best to keep quiet on that. If there are issues there it's hard to know how to help.

Was up really early this morning - just after 4! Just couldn't get back to sleep but feeling tired now which isn't good as have to go out soon for a dental appointment!

When I looked at my menu plan for today I realised it's actually a Green day but as usual probably won't need the 2nd HEA/HEB!

    Food for today:

    B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - HEB; P;S
L - creamy garlic mushrooms with roasted jacket potato - S;F; 2 syns for low fat cheese spread
D - butternut squash and sweet potato curry (from freezer) with rice - S; F

    HEA - milk in tea
    HEB - bread
    Syns - cream cheese 2

Denise, that is early even for me. My alarm goes off at 5.20 on work days. Get some coffee down your throat :)

Hectic morning for me. Daughter had part of her brace come lose yesterday evening, so I've spent the morning sorting out an emergency orthodontist appointment, arranging with mum to bring her in to town for it (I work near to the dental hospital), and sorting out with school for her to get out at lunch time.

So now I've sat down and rested, today's plan:
    Breakfast - yogurt and fruit
    Lunch - LO burrito bowl
Dinner - some pasta lasagne thing I saw in a SW recipe book
Snacks - baby cucumbers, sf jelly, cereal bars, etonish mess (it keeps evolving), nice coffee

    HAs - milk and cheese
    HB - cereal bars
Syns - fruit coulis (1), sf jelly (0.5), choc shot (0.5), meringue (2.5)
    Zebras rock

I can't believe just how early some of you start your days!

I've always found it easy to just eat 3 meals and not snack but if you're up so early then lunch is a very long way off.:) On average, I eat at 8 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. The only times I feel hungry late at night (I don't go to sleep until 1 a.m.) is if I've been forced to have my dinner early because we're out in the evening. SW seem to accommodate variations in people's habits by the timing of the groups. Interesting.:)

Tonight's dinner doesn't have a huge amount of Speed (breakfast had none:o) but I'll try to balance it with loads at lunchtime.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit (F), HEB toast, HEA mik for drinks, scrambled eggs (P)
L: ham (P), fried veg, pickles (S), minimal potato (F)
D: sausage casserole with bacon (P), onions, courgettes, mushrooms (S) baked beans and tagliatelle (F)
Syns: HP sauce 1, Aldi sausages (!)

I must admit my day doesn't normally start that early Maman even though I have to get up for the loo at least once if not twice during the night! (apparently it's part of the problem with my calcium levels but when I saw my GP it didn't register with him that it could be the start of it!). Hopefully then once I've had my op I won't have to get up in the night. Usually I can get back to sleep but this morning I couldn't, it was probably because DH isn't too well and had been up most of the night.

Maman I often defrost and chop a disc of frozen spinach to stir through my scrambled eggs so I get a bit of speed for breakfast (I actually had some fresh left this morning so finished that off).

Kathrynha no way could I drink coffee at that time of the morning! Definitely tea for me. I've got a coffee now but have to wait for it to cool down before I can drink it as I've just got back from the dentist after having a filling - told me not to have anything hot for at least a couple of hours and nothing sticky or hard for 24 hours, good job I've got soft foods planned for today.
