SNAP! We had sausage casserole tonight too bubbs . I put some leeks in as well as the onions, mushrooms and courgettes but, looking at your picture I'll add carrots next time. DH had a second helping but I've just enough left to put on a JP. :)

Mine's an old recipe my DDs made in cookery lessons at school. Briefly you fry the sausage then add onions and chopped bacon. Add mushrooms (then I put in sliced leeks and courgettes to up the Speed), half a tin of beans, tomato puree and some beef stock. Then I take out the sausages and cut them up. Simmer the lot until all cooked. I added a tsp of cornflour and half tsp of mustard powder to thicken a little. I like to serve with tagliatelle. :)
  • Thanks for that joedenise. Might make some mayo when I am off work on Wednesday. I thought you had to syn mustard though?

I managed to offload the yogurt by giving it to my dad as my mum makes his overnight oats.

As soon as I did this, I found a recipe that I am going to try on Wednesday that calls for it. Oh well.

Decided I will attempt something on my days off and then I can decide if I think it is worthy of being made again.

This Wednesday is my chicken, rice, pea recipe which I have cooked for years and only worked out it is low syn as we had roast chicken tonight so I will make it from the leftovers.

The other thing is from a SW book I got in a charity shop. Cumin scented chickpea falafels. Sound rather yum I must say. I will let people know how they go. The yogurt was to dip them in.

I have discovered that 3 Mini Babybel Lights are a HEA2, so that is going to be a daily snack from now on. I have already used 2/5 of my HEA2, so only 2 Babybels today. Along with my Alpen Bar before bed, it's a bit of a odd snack combination!

Will list tomorrow's menu when I get to work.

  •:wave::wave: hello, I am here! I have been either off work having a few days holiday/extended weekends mainly, or working long hours. Off work today, in for 2 days then off again for a long weekend. OH and I have been doing lots of jobs in the garden/home and very little time online. Have been loosely on plan, with several off plan meals & snacks, so not posting meal plans. Will be back to normal after this week.

Am pleased to say have had STS though, shows the extra activity paid off. Had a bit of a result as I bought a new jumper & when we got home and I tried it on, OH said it looked too big. Took it back, tried on the smaller one and it fitted lovely. My 1st size 14 in many years. Also ordered some dresses to try on, and they were 16 petite and all
Fitted - I only kept 1 though & sent the rest back. Will have to either sell or charity shop the clothes that are now too big, and not replacing much more until I get to my target next year. I am finally feeling I look more ‘average’ iykwim, and pleased with that.

Haven’t had a proper read back through the thread, but will
Catch up better next week. Hope you’re all doing ok - I’ve not abandoned you. ;)
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Yes and well done on staying at STS despite not being strictly on plan.

Mustard powder is free pollyanna . If you like English mustard you can make your own by mixing the powder with a tiny bit of cold water.

Officiailly Pollyanna the "mayo" is 0.5 Syns for the sweetener but as it is shared wouldn't syn it. Maman has already mentioned about mustard powder being Free. Ready made mustard is synned at 0.5 per tsp.

I'm feeling really unprepared this month with only doing a week's menu instead of the whole month! I know it sounds daft but I've been doing monthly menus for such a long time it doesn't feel right! I'm going to give it a go for this month and then decide whether I can cope being this disorganised. I thought I might get more use from "bargains" when I'm shopping if I do weekly menus.

    Today's plan:

B - Baked almond oats - HEB + 1.5 (5g flaked almonds split between "muffins")
    L - parsnip and apple soup - F;S
D - pork steak, mash, veg - not sure what yet but will include cabbage! - P;F;S

    HEA - milk in teas
    HEB - oats
Syns - flaked almonds 1.5; not sure what else but will find something as need to use as still have I think 33 syns left for Monday-Wednesday!
