Looking a bit brighter this morning; would normally take advantage of the weather and get a load of washing done and hung out but unfortunately haven't got enough for a complete load at the moment!

    Having a green day today:

B - scrambled eggs on toast (forgot to get any spinach out to defrost! so no Speed) - HEB; P
L - homity pie (from the SW website rather than the one from this month's magazine as it's Free rather than 3 Syns!) - HEA1;S;F
    D - cauliflower cheese - P; S; 4 syns for cheese sauce mix

    HEA1 - part milk/part cheese
    HEA2 - cheese
Syns - cheese sauce mix 4; need more syns so may have a drink or perhaps some chocolate

    Morning.

Brilliant loss Kathryn - you must be delighted!

Bubbs we had cottage pie yesterday - veggie version. Not my favourite (seemed to eat it every other day in school dinners!)but OH loves it.

    Today's menu
    B 1/2 grapefruit with 1/2 tsp sugar (S, 1/2 syn)
Boiled eggs, 2 crispbreads, spread (P, 1/2 HEB, 1 syn)
L If I've time to make it, cauli and broccoli soup, ham salad (S,F,P)
D Spinach, chickpea and potato curry, PON onion bhajis, rice, salad, minty yoghurt (P,S,F) syns for the curry paste (not sure which one I've got so need to look it up - around 2 usually)

WATER! I was doing quite well with my drink more water campaign but had none yesterday. Must do better!

That's interesting which recipes we use. In bubbs' picture yesterday and it looked like the sauce was tomato based. I've made cottage pie like that (using Bolognese sauce as a base) but I prefer mine with gravy based savoury mince. :)

The Co-op Mexican chicken as OK yesterday but I won't buy it again. It was a half chicken designed for serving two but it was really difficult/messy to carve up half a leg/half a breast from a meal covered in sauce. It's probably best just eaten by one (relatively) greedy person. I can't see how it came up free either as the skin was still on the chicken.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porage, HEA milk
    L: JP (F) with LO sausage casserole ( S,F), pickled cabbage (S)
D: baked haddock (P), mash (F), broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes, mushrooms (S)
    Syns: )

I've still got the best part of 30 syns left but no plans to use them today. Technically MY SW week starts from a Friday at the moment as that was my last WI.

I'm with you Maman on the gravy for cottage pie. We eat enough tomato based sauces with curries, chillies etc so definitely beef gravy with cottage pie with plenty of added veggies.

Been to the butchers this morning and stocked up with my meat for the month plus a few bits for my DD2 who phoned me when I was on my way there - think she must be a mind reader because I don't usually go until Thursday on the way home from Mr Ts!

Thanks for the heads up on the Co-op Mexican chicken - will give that a miss, was going to try and pop in tomorrow when I was in town to have a look.

You've done well having that many syns left on a Wednesday! When are you planning on using them?

    Denise
