DIMW how about getting into a new weight bracket or a smaller size by Christmas as a target?

I never ever worked towards a target other than a specific weight but I didn't have a lot to lose to begin with. I originally lost 1.5 stone to get to target but my GP was unhappy that I'd lost too much and insisted I put 0.5 stone back on because at the weight I'd gone down to I'd would struggle to fight off any infections during the winter (I suffer with a lot of chest infections!).

Took me quite a long time to put that 0.5 stone back on but since getting there I've only gone out of target range a couple of times in the 7 years since I got to target. Think I've had to pay for 3 weeks in that time so not too bad.

    Hello all :)
Can't say I have been a very good girl at all mainly yestereday, but back on track today in fact pretty much have only had speed and HEA x 2 and HEB, and my jaffa cake syns in an attempt to rectify the damage.
Yesterday morning I weighed and I had lost 2lb of the 3lb I put on during my holiday. I will have a sneaky look tomorrow to see what yesterdays' binging did. I really need to look at some recipes as I am bored with salad and chicken or tuna.
Well done to those who have lost :)
I also need a goal I think to look forward to, maybe that is what has happened to me, I no longer have to worry about wearing a bikini on holiday lol, perhaps I need another goal to work towards.
Bubbs your bubble and squeak bacon egg meal looks amazing :)
Hope everyone is having the best day that they can :)
Thanks, hubby had 3 times as much b&s than me, but he doesn't have tomatoes they give him mouth ulcers:(

Good job it was raining too hard for me to bother going to the CoOp instead of straight to my car last night then, Maman, don't think I'll bother, but at least you know now.

I had today off and so did my cooking of SW stuff. Think this is what I will do most weeks now. Choose something to make and see if I like it and if I don't, then won't make it again.

Haven't sneakily peeked this week, but still feeling awfully bloated, so not sure if I should expect much this week, although only on Day 3, have stuck to it absolutely. No alcohol and won't till Friday.

But like I have said before, I am eating healthier and drinking less, so that has to be a bonus.

    What I made today:-

Chicken and rice recipe which I have worked out is about a syn a portion.

Cumin scented chickpea falafels. I think they are free, but the SW book I used has different values for different things and I'm finding it confusing. It says Green: Free, but then for a different recipe on the next page, it says Green/Original: Free.

It's the same with another SW book I have got. I have earmarked all the ones I want to make, but the syns are so different. I don't know how old the books are as I got them from charity shops. For example, for a lovely South Italian torta I found, it says Extra Easy: 2 ½, Green 2 ½ and Original 14 !!!! From the SW plan I know (and think I follow), the only syns would be for the mozzarella in it.

    My menu for today:-

    B – Coffee (Hea1)

    L – Ham, Egg, Babybel Salad (mushrooms, lettuce, toms, cucumber, peppers) (P, F, 1/3 Hea2, S)
    Muller Light – 0.5
Hula Hoop Pufts – 3.5 (have resisted them for so long and I just thought sod it today).

    D – My chicken and rice dish – 1.0

S – Falafels (S, P). These were really tasty and really filled me up. I almost didn't want my dinner.
    Tea x 3 (Hea1)

Don't think I will have any more Babybels as my Hea2, but might have a couple of Alpen Bars.

Good idea to cook a new recipe on your days off pollyanna . Denise and I started on the old plans so just ask if you want to know syns for the old recipes. Put simply, the Red plan was very meat based and you had to syn potatoes and other carbs. Now they're all free. Conversely the Green plan was sort of veggie so meat had to be synned. That's why the syns vary in the old books. HTH.

Maman has explained the old Green and Red days well! If any of the recipes have EE syn values then that is the one to use.

If you're not sure about Syns then just pop what is in the recipe and we can let you know if anything needs to be synced but suspect that a lot of the syn values are for meat on Green days and carbs on Red days!

I often make falafels for group taster morning as everyone loves them - there certainly aren't any left to bring home! I've actually started using a non-SW version recipe which I think are better as they aren't as dry. The only thing I've had to change to keep them free is to bake them and not fry them in oil!

It's WI this morning and I'm hoping I haven't lost anything or I'll drop out of bottom end and have to put on this week! Ended up having a couple of rum and ginger beer last night to use up some syns as I will still below the weekly 105!!! This definitely doesn't happen very often, LOL!

    Today's plan:

    B - fruit and quark
    L - corned beef salad sandwich - HEB + 4;S
D - not sure as DH has hospital appointment at 5.30pm so will probably end up having fish & chips. If not it will be stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon, potatoes & veg

    HEA - milk in drinks
    HEB - bread
Syns - corned beef 2; spread 2; plus whatever we have for dinner

It's not often you get to read that on here!:D Hope you get the result you want.

I've been to the hospital this morning for ultrasound. Pleased to say they didn't find anything untoward so the bloating isn't anything gynae which my GP was obviously worried about. It was great to get instant feedback. Still getting the bloating from time to time so we'll see if he can think of any other tests to send me for! I'm not sure how many of the aches and pains are stress related (stress from being sent for tests if that makes sense) or if any might have another cause.

I've ended up with 28 syns left this week. That can happen if I don't eat out and although I did go out last Saturday, supper was very SW friendly.:)

I have a plan for today but DH is out this evening so I might need to juggle dinner.
    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit F), HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, 2 boiled eggs (P)
L: JP (F) cottage cheese (P), beetroot, pickled cabbage (S)
D: SW Bolognese (S,P) with tagliatelle (F) and Parmesan (HEA2)
Syns: probably drink some of the 28;)

Hello everyone. Thanks for the replies re EE, Green and Red. Makes it all very complicated, haha. Not sure what I will be cooking next Wednesday, but there was a egg, potato torte thingie that looked nice.

I've got my mum making me SW coleslaw today :o and I bought chicken thighs as I used to make PON jerk chicken. Not sure on syns, but from I recall, it's just for the honey used in it. So could I have sysn for that please?

    Plan today:-

    B - Coffee (HEA1), watermelon (S), grapes (F), banana (F)

S - 2 x Eggs (P) Loved these at first, but do think I am eating too many eggs, and now I'm not looking foward to my lunch which is:-

    L - Crustless quiche (S, F, P, HEA2)
    Salad (S)
    Muller Light (0.5)
Hula Hoop Pufts (3.5) Think I'll start eating these again as I don't half miss crisps and it didn't seem to be making any difference to the weight loss anyways.

    D - Heck sausages x 4 (2.0), mash (F), veg of some sort (S, F?), gravy (1.5)

    S - Alpen Bars x 2 (HEB)
    Tea x 3 (HEA1)

My girls have already planned some meals for next week! How prepared are they?

Chicken nuggets and chips (we don't have this often, I'll prob have something different).

Butter chicken, rice (I can eat my tikka masala that I made last week while they have this)
Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
    Mortgages (End 2017) - £180,235.03
    (End 2021) - £131,215.25 DID IT!!!
    (End 2022) - Target £116,213.81

Honey is 2.5 syns per tablespoon Pollyanna.

I use it for stir fry sauce: honey, soy sauce and lime juice. It's lush, well worth the syns.

There are lots of SW friendly butter chicken recipes around if you wanted to try that for you and the girls. :)

Pollyanna if you use the PON jerk chicken recipe it works out at 1 syn per portion as I've used that quite recently. The Caribbean jerk chicken stew is good too and that's Syn Free so even better.

Maman good news that the bloating isn't anything gynae but also worrying about what the actual problem is. Hope your GP has some more ideas! Try not to worry about the tests they are a necessary evil as I well know. I've just got the date for the first of my scans but still waiting for a date for the other one and also a date for my op. Hope I don't have to wait too long as I don't want to lose my holiday!

I did get the result I wanted at group this morning - a gain of 0.5lb! Looks like the rum and ginger beer last night did the job, LOL!
