Does anyone know if tinned creamed sweetcorn is free please? i cant se it, my sister asked me it used to be when she did SW a few years ago
I put it through the calculator and it comes out free bubbs . I think the 'creamed' must be to do with mashing it up rather than any synful ingredients. It's not something I'd eat. I like the crunchy texture of baby sweetcorn but I find ordinary sweetcorn tasteless and pointless. I'll eat it out in a tuna JP but I don't buy it.
I agree that carvery is a good option esmy . I try to bypass the Yorkshire and then fill my plate with veg and meat so there's not much room for roast potatoes.0 -
Also think the creamed sweetcorn is free as I used to use it in a chicken & sweecorn soup & it was free.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. That's brilliant denise. The bottom of range is where target members dream of. I'm sure you'll find a way of using a few extra syns if you have to.
If that's what works for you then go for it. I really think we have to adapt SW to an extent to fit our own lifestyles. I'd say the basics are essential like not exceeding the weekly syns total and having at least a third speed. Then there are other things you can tinker with like skipping some HEXs or saving syns.
You'll be fine if you don't eat up all the scraps and crumbs like tie!:D
We've been out for lunch today. Although I had about 30 syns to spare I probably used them and more. Not much choice of starter so I had pate with toast then I had plaice (pan fried) and chips. Both came with very generous pile of salad leaves. And I had a glass of wine. So if I was going to WI a STS would be good. I might even have more wine tonight.:p
Back on plan tomorrow. My fridge is looking really bare as I've been good at using things up this week. As I don't have to cook this evening (DH even had jam roly poly and custard with his meal:eek:) I think I'll wash out the fridge before I do my shop tomorrow.
:rotfl::rotfl:Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Well done Denise on the loss and Beanie hope your back feels better soon. Maman, I'll be good unlike TIE and not eat up all the crumbs. I'm donating buns, so I won't feel I need to support it by buying cakes. Baking without linking out the bowl will be the challenge but if hubby and child know I'm baking they will loiter in the kitchen under my feet until I hand the bowl over
Veered slightly from my plan yesterday but still totally on plan and with only 3 syns.
Today's plan:
Breakfast - yogurt and fruit
Lunch - prawn couscous salad
Dinner - trout, sw chips and salad
Snacks - hi fi bars, sw Eton mess, fruit
HAs - milk
HB - cereal bars
Syns - meringue (2.5), sf jelly (0.5)Zebras rock0 -
Evening all
I had butternut squash chips todayfor the first time, but they were £1:eek::eek::rotfl::rotfl: i was going to have half today and half tomorrow that wasn't going to happen when i see how many was there:rotfl::rotfl: i will make my own boogers next time:D
Beanie that will make you:rotfl::rotfl:
Chicken curry 4 syns for mayflower, egg fried cauli rice and "the" chips, garlic bread hexb
Denise, well done:T:T:T
Bubbs curry always looks gorgeous!
I noticed Heron have the Mayflower curry sauce in the freezer section as well, don't look like very big portions though.
Morning all.
Well done to the losers. :Tcurl girl with a space - even though there is no space in my cupboard!!!0 -
Gained 1lb, was not a happy bunny. Realised that I had a lot of bread this week, don't usually eat it as it impacts, also when I went to loo this morning, registered not been all week, so with those out of the way, can only improve for next week!
As with everyone, taster last night, was surprised to see the area manager, who commented on my taster. Only made Greek yoghurt with sugar free strawberry jelly topped with fresh strawberries, thankfully set nicely, but was surprised to be told by the manager that the jelly is actually 1 1/2 syns per packet, I always thought it was free? I don't eat desserts so not been an issue.
On the plus side, I won a free week in one of the games, timed to perfection, my countdown ended yesterday and there is a new journal for the next countdown special which begins in 2 weeks. I probably would have paid next week to get the journal, but free week is a good bonus!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
GTQ when I make up the SF jelly I split it into 4 ramekins to set so syn at 0.5 each. If it was just me eating it I would split into 3 so each one was actually 0.5!!! Unfortunately DH likes it too, LOL! Some of the women in my group actually make the jelly in pint glasses and eat it all themselves! Don't think I could eat that much in one go though.
Trying another new recipe today. The plan for today is:
B - stuffed mushrooms - mushroom S; stuffed with couscous mixed with herbs, spring onions, tomatoes, peppers F&S; topped with grated emmantal part HEA
L - sweetcorn and smoked haddock chowder - sweetcorn F; haddock P; onion, celery S; stock F (new recipe)
D - HM chicken curry with pilau rice
HEA - milk in tea/emmantal
HEB - hifi bar/2 Ryvita
Syns - LF spread 2; couple of rum & ginger beer 5
The cuban beef from the PON wasn't brilliant for some reason the beef wouldn't shred like it's supposed to. It was certainly edible and I've frozen half for another time but probably won't be making again.
