A Question for Tory Supporters

Saddest thing I have seen with welfare in modern times is people who try to claim after years/decades of hard work and who hit some kind of adversity in their life who are walked all over and punished for not being crafty enough to know the in's and outs of abusing it, I have seen this so many times.
How many people can remember the start of this abuse, the now infamous printed off newsletters going around the Tech colleges and dole office among certain types of people on how to abuse it and within in the law in most cases.
And don't get me started on food banks, if I see one more weeping mother with several kids who is clearly several stone overweight, looking into the camera as she announces she has to "go without eating for the sake of her kids"
Yes, the poor are dreadful aren't they? Leeching off your hard earned food banks you pay nothing towards and requiring you to produce lazy and ill informed stereotypes in response.0 -
Nope
Labour wants to tax you, so it can spend the money on the people.
Conservatives want your money for themselves. Like JRM who has made a fortune by driving down sterling since brexit.
Whichever you choose you lose, but in one all your money goes to rich elite establishment. Brexit for them is the gift that keeps on giving. From your wallet.
You could argue all day with the staunchest Tory supporter and you still wouldn't sway, that much is clear from your post.
There are many different views on what makes an economy tick, and to me and many others its small government, limited taxation at a true free market.Im A Budding Neil Woodford.0 -

That's fine, providing everyone pays their tax. Too many (predominantly) English people are delighted with socialism when they want to claim their right to a paid holiday, book an elderly relative in for a hip replacement, or have the state educate their children for 12 years.
But as soon as it's their own employees asking for a paid holiday, and other people's kids and elderly relatives it's neoliberalism all the way.0 -

Have you any idea what poor or poverty really is?
I suggest you make the minimal effort and see what is happening in many parts of the world, Tell the people in real poverty stricken countries about "our poor" who can have families on welfare, housing paid, car, telephone and yes food, and plenty of it.
Please point me in the area where there is even the slightest malnutrition in the UK, it's not there, in fact I would go so far as to say, unless self inflicted, it is impossible to happen in todays UK0 -

If public spending in England wasn’t rationed, we’d perhaps have a more enlightened attitude toward such things.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Prime example .. Female has a child at 21 with someone who doesn't work and has a habit of rolling spliffs very adeptly.. Female gives up work (only worked for 12 months)and now has a 2 bed ground floor flat with a small garden.
Moans like !!!!!!y that said partner is useless and wants to leave him and go and live with mother in her council house who also has 3 of her own children. (mother has a total of 5)
Female changes her mind and stays with low life who has gone to the GP's declaring he is unfit for work due to depression
Lo and behold female is pregnant with another child , neither of them have paid anything to the cost of these kids ,
I would much rather their flat went to an OAP who has worked but never managed to have their own place for one reason or another and are stuck in some high rise crap hole because these lazy beggars spend more time on their back than finding a job
..and some Labour person thinks it's OK to take off me and others to distribute the wealth to these people??? are you having a giraffe
Food banks...don't even get me started on these0 -

It would seem that if those people in your example are real, then they've been through an awful time to think that is all their life is worth. They obviously can't fix it on their own, or they would. If you want them to be productive then they need help and that costs money.
Hate isn't a good look on you. Please point me in the area where there is even the slightest malnutrition in the UK, it's not there, in fact I would go so far as to say, unless self inflicted, it is impossible to happen in todays UK
I think you don't understand human psychology at all. It's very rare that someone that doesn't have enough money for heating or lighting and struggle to afford food, while taking their children to school and seeing other parents who can, then rationalise that at least they have more than the starving people from other parts of the world who occasionally show up on the TV.
Yes, for the far right it must seem like an affront. But mental health problems are a real drain on society and if done properly (which I don't believe things are due to conservatives austerity) then looking after people in those situations is cheaper in the long run
Compassion is very lacking in post brexit world.0 -

Re-read what you wrote. Then reflect on the fact we are having a conversation about food banks. Charities that are set up to literally provide food, to people who don't have any.0 -

They need to priorities and stop having kids they can't afford. Again benefit is a safety net not a lifestyle choice

I'm recovering from a breakdown and getting back into voluntary work has been so helpful... not sure why with the right medication and GP work will always help the mind
Compassion is very lacking in post brexit world.
I have lots of compassion for those that deserve it and not those who think they are entitled0 -
Live in a Lab-Con marginal, held my nose and voted Labour in 2017 in spite of my grave misgivings about the leadership, as they at least ran a moderate local candidate.
Got a momentum-bot in this time, so will be voting LibDem.
Really have so little interest in voting for populist rubbish whether it is left or right wing.0
