  • Saying you didn't know you had it when you yourself have evidence that you were told you had is not going to fly.

Not using it is not a valid complaint reason either...I haven't used my home insurance in all the years I've had it.

Having PPI is not a complaint reason.

A good response and you are right. It would be stupid for me to say that I am putting in a complaint because I haven’t used the PPI which I don’t remember getting, but then miraculously retrieved proof that I did get. No that would be indeed quite stupid.

I am smart enough to know that that’s not how this racket works. But then I am likely to tell the truth of the matter. I have recently found this document years after it was sent pre family tumult and after I made a belated and speculative complaint.

Exactly, and yet you get pieces of work on here claiming otherwise. It's pathetic...and more to the point, wrong.
Yes there is something you can do, head to the Consumer Action Group and they will help you with this.

Many thanks for this useful information. Please can you tell me what the Consumer Action Group is? Kind regards

Clydesdale Bank were fined £20 million by the FCA in 2015 for lying to the FOS and customers about the existence of PPI records.

They got caught in the act of lying. Other banks are still getting away with it.

    Unbelievable!!

Always with a sting in the tail....
    The response was barbed.

I know CAG. I SHOULD HAVE USED THEM AS MY ADVICE POINT.

I Was directed to resolver Resolver and that’s why I am on here...... and of course I was making late complaints. I got it all fired off, but you never know.

Never done this before . It is speculative, but I have put in about 13 cmplaints ranging from car finance to 3 mortgages, loans and credit and store cards. Created this thread because some important document has turned up convincing me that making these speculative complaints might not be such a bad idea

Nope, just proof positive that some of you on here don’t help and people on CAG do.
If the end result is the person gets the help, what’s your problem with this??

You are 100% right in what you say. Plus, what’s the worst that can happen?

    :rotfl:

It wouldn’t have been if people were just cordial, civil and stopped with the moralising.
It’s not what I came here for. I wish I went to CAG first. I just got caught up in all the Martin Lewis marketing tripe and Resolver so I stayed.

On the whole it has been very insightful here. All the respondents insights have been useful.
