vacuumed the stairs and landing.. and the bit of girls room the cable would allow me to reach. Bossed DS2 to vac his room.. it still stinks in there but he can no longer walk bits all over the place.

1 binbag to chazzer.. then I found 2 more full and ready to go.. My house is still bursting at the seams and it is christmas in 5 minutes.

    recycling out
pots and laundry all done up to date
    kitchen mopped
    WC vacuumed and wiped.
windows cleaned in wc and bathroom.. I've not done those for at least a year!

I emptied a chest of drawers so DD3 could overflow into it.

Still not touched the front room and it is GROSS in here!

For the first time in 2 years I do not have to negotiate trays of plants waiting to be set out in the back garden. The border that I can see from my desk is looking loads better! Just the bulbs and pots to be done now - and part of the lawn to be re-seeded.

The house is definitely showing signs of neglect, though...

We have driven 50 miles to a concert this evening and about 55 miles back (with one section of the motorway closed) which was well worth the effort :)

I hope things went well for your DD on Friday, Fayolle - I was thinking of you both xx

    Well done Round :T x

Well done both of you, juliejim xx

Sounds as though you're working your way through the situation at work, Round. Well done.
Weird, Kazwookie. I hadn't got you down as 'a person of interest' to security types!

Three loads through the WM, pegged out last night and dried, folded and put away by late this afternoon. Minutes and tax return both done yesterday, plus 30 minutes dusting. I only managed the lower ground and ground floor because it really, really needed it.
    Better is good enough.

    Morning

    Cat feed
    Rubbish out
Think I will do roast chicken for lunch / dinner, only problem is I don't have a chicken, so I'll have to go shopping for one, I have all the veg etc.

I wanted a NSD but that won't be happening.

Might have a wander down to the local dog show later on this morning

Morning all. Well done to all of you that actually got stuff done yesterday. I sat on my backside.

Today, apart from dog walks, I have a whole day at home. Since becoming a councillor I have reached the maximum of what I can do and give time to. It's a weird situation seeing pictures of myself on the internet and this week twice in the local rag. I'm currently working on a project which should make life a little easier for disabled residents if I can pull it off but even local politics is a really slow process.

Anyway, started the day cleaning up after Poppet so I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow, and I will focus on indoors and garden today. Think I'll alternate 15 minutes time on each.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Morning :hello:

Congratulating myself on not eating carp yesterday - I bought fruit instead of chocolate. :T :A

Opened the curtains this morning to see two dozen (I counted) swallows (I think) lined up on the wire outside - ready for taking off for the long trek south. Defo autumn then :D I love being NOT HOT :D

WM is swishing with towels / tea towels.

Calendar is still on August; bujo not yet set up for September - and I spent yesterday afternoon 'exploring' Uni courses with Foundation Year still available through Clearing at Hull Uni. [STRIKE]Probably[/STRIKE] not practical for this year (or maybe any year) - need to look at Student Finance age limits etc. but I'm happy to find myself looking outside my comfort zone - where it is actually not at all comfortable any more :o Is that possible?

WM's finished - better fling on some clothes and get it pegged out, and 2nd load swishing.

Have a good day my lovelies

  • Well done for dealing so well with the Week From Hell, Round.

I'm slightly shell-shocked from waking up at quarter to six every morning this week (an entire major road is closed for works they started last weekend and were supposed to be finished in a day - no sign of them finishing yet, but combined with back to school and some foul weather that caused gridlock for three miles, my single 20 minute bus journey is currently bus, tram and half hour walk to get to and from work, taking an hour each time). But I've woken up naturally at exactly the same time all weekend as well - which is weird.

Even weirder, I'm sleeping. By Thursday, I was in bed by 9.30 and asleep shortly afterwards - and Friday, because Himself, poor dear, had to work, ended at 9pm.

Spent yesterday blitzing the kitchen and doing the washing, plus changing the bedlinen. Thankfully, by the time Himself emerged, he got stuck into cleaning and helping with the quilt cover, so I didn't have to do everything. And he cleaned up after cooking.

This morning's conversations have gone like this so far - 'morning. Breakfast? Oh. Thank you. Where's the head? What have you done with the head? Don't be miaowing at me unless you're telling me what you've done with the head'.

'mind yourself, I need to peg this - URGGGGGGH! *&@#+*% SPIDERS! [peg gets flung across garden with large and rather cross arachnid still hanging onto it, small crunch underfoot]. Why didn't you tell me that's where you put the head?'

Today is mostly bathroom (shouldn't take long), doing a SC proper dinner - might be pig & apples this week - and doing as little as possible, except getting ready for the week, as he's got 5 days work.

I am trying not to bite, but when he complained he'll be 'really tired' -

    ,

Then going on to say 'it's about five hours a day, but I'll be waking up the same time as you, so it'll be just as much work'

'yeah, but you'll be paid for that'

    [Gives The Look]

'when my shifts are fixed, I'll be looking for something to fill in the gaps, obviously'

    - I do wonder whether he genuinely has a death wish.

One more coffee and I'll give the bathroom a quick clean and stick the last washload on - I'm really liking having 15, 30, 45 and 59 minute wash programmes on this WM.

Still going to replace the DW, though. It's been too long without one.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Ok, so I'm dressed, the bed is made, breakfast dishes washed and sink scrubbed, bathrooms s&sd. Having a quick cuppa then I'll take the dogs out.

I bought some tiles for the downstairs loo and have had them in the office for a couple of months staring at me and becoming a frog. Not sure I really like them now anyway so this morning I have moved them to the shed where they can no longer stare at me.
