Dogs walked, garden watered and bedding on line so naturally it's started to rain.

Thank you, ladies, for the thread, last week and this. I’m in, better late than never.
Belated happy birthday wishes for yesterday to Round. Xx
I hope new jobs / back to work days have gone well.
DD and I have had a last day out before she’s back to school on Wednesday - tomorrow being deemed Last Lie In Day. Her choice - a day in the capital city. Honestly I think we have been there so many times in the last 3 months that I am a walking timetable for GWR.
However many good intentions that I may have, I feel that this evening will be spent slumped on the settee. We ate at lunchtime so DH is having a leftover meal from the freezer, which has the added bonus of freeing up more space for some of the bean / courgette glut. Win win.0 -
Evening All
Still a few more bits to be done on the kitchen and then it needs tiling and papering. Hopefully the sink will be connected tonight. I cleaned one set of cupboards and drawers last night and have started putting things away today. I've also cleaned the work surfaces and I'm just about to clean some more of the cupboards so I can put some more stuff away although I didn't sleep well last night so I'm ready for bed now!
Hope your first day went well Jojo!
Have a good day all
Hugs

Sooo tired. I woke up at 5.40, got up, put a coffee on and was ready to leave at five to seven. Decided I couldn't stand to hang around for Himself to leave the house and caught the bus immediately - it then went promptly on a huge diversion that wasn't announced and I ended up with a twenty minute walk from the temporary stop. Just as well I left early.
Everybody seems nice, there's nobody inundating me with stuff to be done immediately and the only annoyance was a pig of a journey home that took about an hour instead of the 20 minutes it would normally take.
I have stuffed down a ton of food and am trying to stay awake so I sleep through tonight from about 11. Himself doesn't have work tomorrow, so he's already snoring on the settee.
Going to get the coffee machine ready and loaded up and sort out proper clothes for the morning. He will be informed that he needs to do the kitchen tomorrow, as the rapid supply of carbs I needed means it looks horrific in there.
At least the bed is made. Although it is doing its best to call me...I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Paid stuff done, some business admin done for DH, kitchen tidied after dinner and 8 pairs of old shoes bagged up to drop at CS tomorrow.
General rubbish bin out for collection too.
WFH tomorrow so will aim tomorrow do more. Sleep well all xx
PS glad it's gone well Jojo x0 -
Good morning all
Although I’ve been at job 1 all through the summer, somehow it feels like back to work day today.
I have put the towels in the wm for later, done HHI, and given the bathrooms a very quick s&s. A block of puff pastry is out of the freezer to create some kind of tart thingy for dinner with the tomatoes. That will be about it before I have to go.
Have a good day, and good luck to those back to school / work today for the first time.0 -
Morning all.
Glad your first day went well, Jojo.
Hope you're home safe, pigpen - what, Twinkle in Nursery already? Sorry to hear about the shake-ups in your oldest offsprings' lives and the knock-on effects on you and all the LOs.
Yesterday i did some tidying up work in the garden and also bought some paint for the walls of the downstairs bedroom - the ceiling and gloss are fine for a few more yearsI also decluttered some worn-out trainers and sandals.
Today I'm off to London for a 1.00 meeting, so I have made up a packed lunch to eat on the train, sorted the meeting papers and picked out a couple of books to read. I have also left food for DH. And I have already prepared all that I need for tomorrow, which will be a full-on, 12-hour working day
See you all later xx0 -
It sounds as though thanks to all your hard work that kitchen is going to be back up and running really quickly, JulieJim.
Glad the first day went smoothly, Jojo.
Oven got done yesterday, and the four loads of laundry done over the weekend are dried, folded and away, but that's about all I achieved other than knocking several things off a longstanding shopping list at last.
It's our 26th anniversary today so not a lot of Flying will be achieved. For the first time in 11 years we have a dog that's up to coming on our annual walk from Cawsand back to Cremyll which is only a couple of miles but fabulous anyway, stopping off for a pub lunch at the Rising Sun in Kingsand. My only worry about her is that she's probably going to have the vapours about going down a particular ramp she's happy to walk up every single day but is terrified of walking down (so why?) and how she'll react to the foot ferries. This little dog has had such a sheltered life I have to be careful to only introduce her to one new experience most days; today will be exhausting for her but I think she'll enjoy it.
Had to laugh when we swapped cards this morning - we clearly bought them from the same shop, on the same day, because they're by the same designer! *snap*Better is good enough.0 -
Morning all,
WFH today which means DW unloaded, two x WM on line, dog taken to vet, school stuff sorted for kiddies for tomorrow (cannot wait for them to go back now, epic bickering!) and two large bags of stuff dropped at the charity shop.
Simple burger and chips for tea. Have lovely days all xx
ETA general rubbish bin emptied this morning and has been washed out x0
