  • Kids will be home in a few minutes and then the Xmas holidays can begin, we have had a tradition since they were little that they get a new pair of pyjamas and a dvd at the end of school and chill out for the afternoon, long before these Xmas Eve boxes came about. I went out to get them and oh my goodness the pjs this year are awful, either really tacky or too young for them, I ended up going to M&S and eventually found some plus had 30% off.

MiL sent over £50 of Tesco savings stamps so will use them next week when we get the food etc for the 2 meals, we'll still get the majority from Lidl but some things are not available in there that we need.

£25 cash out from survey site and also nearly £30 almost ready to claim in TCB.

Hubby had a guilty conscious yesterday and has sent presents to his parents and sister when we decided we weren't going to, I need to get something for my parents now to take round on Xmas Day.

Still waiting for main pay to come in and just get a few more bits for the kids then can hit the debt busting with renewed vigor!

  • Good afternoon, hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday ours was lovely and quiet everyone seemed a bit tired but the kids stayed at my parents to play a board game with my brother and sister-in-law whilst dh and I came home and dh snoozed on the sofa!

Had some lovely presents and felt really embarrassed but my family were fine and understanding, next year it will be better.

I've been updating the budget and ynab, I still need to put in the figures for January and make sure we plan ahead, I've decided to go with option one and pay off the car first, we have a usual direct debit going out tomorrow and will save all I can to make extra payments of the same amount of £191.64, so far with survey money, cheque from my sister and cashback site I have £175 coming in already. I will move funds into a sub account and then when I have enough then make the payment.

No food shopping needed for a while and no fuel needed so should come under budget on those items before the end of the year.

Extra income for debt payments £0/£585
    Car payments left 21/21
    Current debt £11,023.38

  • Happy new year everyone, had a nice quiet but fun evening in to see in the new year and we're gradually getting back into our routines before the kids go back to school on Monday. I have a very big running challenge this year so as the months go on my time will be eaten up with that preparation! Raising money for my club which is a great motivation.

Nothing happening with debt payments, still waiting for all the survey money to arrive and then can make a payment.

All ticking along nicely, H x
  • Happy New Year H xx
