    Hope you feel better soon. It's horrible when our bodies let us down. Have a positive weekend.

    Lol at the Twilight zone. I've been in it for over a week and that's probably why I'm not posting as much :rotfl:

  • Good afternoon, lovely morning we went over to the butchers to get some nice pork ribs and some steak for a pie tomorrow then came home for sausage sandwiches. I then nipped to the the DIY store as we figured we could paint the front door and also put a new letter box on the porch as there hasn't been one for a long time. I didn't need paint but brought the letter box, a broom for outdoors, some grass seed for dh and some masking tape for the door as it has glass in it. I had a voucher in an email so got £5 off the price.

    I've painted the surround of the letter box so just waiting for it to dry before putting the front on, tidied up the back garden of veg and swept up it's looking neat for the winter but would like to get some bulbs that will pop up in the spring.

    Off to get the ribs in their marinade in a minute and think about what the kids will have for tea as they don't like them, then sand one side of the frnt door and paint that side and do the other side tomorrow.

    New bank card arrived today so need to work out spends for teh rest of the month, I'm off to Cardiff for 2 days with work on friday but the room has been paid for and getting a lift with colleague. I just need to put breakfast on expenses and whatever I drink at the evening meal. I'm not sure that the dress I wanted to wear will fit but a friend has offered to lend me one if I can find one she has that isn't pink. I don't do pink!

  • Morning! Been out to do volunteering this morning and then back to do the dishes and other bits and pieces, I didn't get round to doing the door yesterday so may do today.

    I got some bulbs from l*dl to put in pots and will cover the tops for over the winter as the local cats like to poop in them.

    A few surveys to do today and then a busy week with work sending out invitations for a project I have been working on and organising a reception for it.

    The home improvements sound good as does your overnight trip away. I used to secretly love mine - peace away from the family and time to myself win:win. They were infrequent though. Enjoy the weekend. DH mowed the lawn yesterday so our garden is looking a little more respectable. Neighbours have also been cutting back trees and bushes... Me.... Well I've been indulging in writing instead...

    I do like the spring and summer when everything is growing in the garden, savingholmes, but it's also nice to tidy up and enjoy the wonders of autumn when all the lovely leaves turn and you can cosy up with a brew!

    Good morning all, loan payment went out yesterday bringing another debt closer to getting into the £1k bracket rather than £2k. Bank account is looking very poor though and still a week until pay day, I need to write a list of meals for dh and the kids for the weekend and get the actual shopping rather than leave the money as I am far better at shopping on a budget then they are. It's also amazing how they say we have nothing to eat but I can see several meals to put together, they might not be the most exciting but it's food!

    Budget took a little hit as ds needed studded shoes for rugby, why they didn't put this on the kit list I don't know! Plus dh brought some 'finest' products at Mr T and then came back saying it's so expensive there! Bah could throttle him sometimes. I might need to move the last £50 from savings as we will need fuel and food next week, I need to pay for school dinners too and can redeem a prepaid card to help towards it. Also paid £40 deposit for a trip for ds next year, we said we weren't going to do school trips but felt bad that he would miss out on experiences, need to pay balance of £130 by end of January.

    The kids have done their Xmas lists so I can start buying them when the expenses go in, plus I need to get dd her birthday presents too.

    DH is unhappy at work, he enjoys the job and gets paid a decent wage but he's really fed up of doing all the jobs whilst his colleague in the same position basically skives off for most of the day. DH gets into work really early in the morning and the other bloke turns up about mid-morning on a good day, dh has spoken to his bosses about it and the other one of them told the bloke that he needed him to be in early the next day, he phoned in next day saying his radiator had fallen off and flooded and was waiting for a plumber! Not sure what dh is going to do, but he won't make any rash decisions.

    Plans for today - surveys, go and try on a dress for the weekend, a bit of shopping, menu for the weekend and later 2 x clubs.

  • I feel for your DH, hope it gets resolved soon.

    Boo to the rugby boots, I had that with DD but thankfully DS had an old pair she could use.

    I did tell mine that they needed to do their lists....still waiting lol

    Have a great day xx
  • Well good morning, it's been a very busy couple of weeks with work and family, trip away to Cardiff with work was brilliant and as well as enjoying it I also learnt a lot and have some plans for my region too.

    I've been plodding on although mostly I have been have a sort out in the house and debt payments have been sorting themselves, I do need to crack on and make some additional payments but also need to be mindful of Xmas coming up.

    What's been happening:
    * Debt is almost down to the £10k's this well be achieved by end of November
    * DD birthday next week, I already have a graphics tablet she wanted, I got it for £15 less than the site she linked it on, plus I had £15 in vouchers to go towards it. I'm also waiting for a t-shirt to arrive and will get a few bits and pieces.
    * Work is very busy and will be until about March time, we have got 16 days off over Xmas if we take 2 days leave but as I only work 4 days then I don't really need to use it then and can save it.

    To do:
    * Expenses need to be submitted tomorrow, I'm working tonight so will need to wait until that is done before I finish.
    * Received new power plug for ds drum kit so will list on FB site
    * Presents for dd birthday
    * Think about Xmas
    * Catch up on surveys

    Oh and need to source an new letter box surround, we have a really obnoxious postman - he parks his van outside our house and the other week I saw him eating a banana before driving off. I had to go out not long afterwards and saw the skin on the pavement in front of our hedge. Then the last couple of days he tried to put through items that obviously wouldn't fit and the whole surround broke (it was a bit rotten but that's not the point) and he put the front bit in the porch with the parcel!! :mad:

    Hope everyone is well, will catch up later as ds is kicking me off the computer.
