Hugglemonster hits the debt hard!

Morning all, I was sat having a coffee and getting drawn into useless videos on fb when I thought actually I should do something productive as I never seem to have enough time for everything.
Therefore this morning I'm going to update my budget, including setting clear pots for food, home, fuel etc. so we stick to it. I need to do a meal plan and shopping list, I also need to get some posts out for my business to see how many spaces I have and then advertise ready for September.
I sorted niece's birthday gifts, I just need to get for ds and my s-i-l a little something.
Vet visit was ok, just seems like she caught on something and pulled the hair off. Have some cream for a few days - cost was £57 and I had £50 in the vet pot. Also whilst I was there I was chatting and discovered some info about a story relevant to my job so I've organised an interview on Monday to get all the details.
I've just checked my home insurance quote and I have more than enough to cover it from the annual bills pot.
Yesterday I also got all the paint and brushes etc. out of the shed to see what condition they were in, a few dregs of paint to get rid of but should have enough of everything to now decorate the area we've just had plastered. A job for Monday. All I need is a coating to put on the walls before it's painted so will pop over to the hardware store today.
I'm working all weekend at both care places, so need to be organised and get on with it.
Have a lovely weekend, H x1 -

Thanks both, haven't started the painting as need a bucket to mix the first coat and not going to the shop today. Ds and I did sand down all the woodwork that needs painting yesterday, and cleaned up afterwards so at least that bit is done.
Another weekend gone but enjoyed pottering around yesterday and catching up with my brother and s-i-l, they're taking the kids back with them on Thursday for a few days so although I have 2 night shifts in that time, I can have some time with dh.
Another busy week ahead but am taking some time out from clubs as it's ds birthday tomorrow and Thursday dh and I are having a meal. Might just be at home but will be good to chill out.
Finances bit coming up:Loan - current balance £2043.96 - next payment on 25th
DH computer - current balance £2568.12 - will make an extra payment when I get my expenses.
Mum - current balance £100 - last payment on 6th September
Mattress - current balance £194.88 - 4 more payments to go
Total balance: £4906.96
I had my payslip this morning for second job, with my extra hours it is a nice amount to be paid on Thursday so I'm going to keep some back to have for spending money for our weekend away in a couple of weeks.
Had a lovely email that monthly direct debit going up by £50 in September. To be fair to the company they are always good at adjusting our bills when they need to reduce too.
Also had an email from dd school, the last remaining payments are back down to £2600 each term instead of £2800. After I've paid for this term on Thursday I'll be able to save the remaining 2 payments a bit quicker!
All swings and roundabouts I suppose, H x1 -
Good that your overall debt is dropping and that DD's school got paid.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Ah well my little lad is 14 today, he towers over me now so not so little! My parents, brother & s-i-l are coming over for dinner later and ds has chosen a reasonable cheap meal to make. Just need to get a few drinks in.
Home insurance has been paid today, so glad to have the money set aside. I can't believe how long it took to get that budget sorted, it's definitely something I'll be teaching the kids when we teach them about finances. We have taught them how to cook, and yesterday they both got a laundry basket and I showed them the settings on the washing machine to use. From now on they'll do the majority of their own laundry, another step towards independence.
I'm busy cleaning the house before the family arrives, and need to prepare some of the dinner early.
Need to update my daily budget, pay day from 2nd job tomorrow and then my other job next Thursday. Will have a bit of a shop next week as ds needs school trousers and walking shoes for his trip so he can break them in before he goes in October.

Getting the kids doing their own washing reduces so much stress. Their fault if something isn't available to wear.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Whoop whoop dd got an A in her first A Level! She was really nervous so glad she got what she wanted. She's very hard on herself but she works hard at her grades.
Paid for the next term at school this morning, will be nice when that money goes towards the house/mortgage. Already started the next savings £370/£2600.
Kids have gone off with brother, nice and quiet in the house until dh gets home!
I'm still doing the dishes after last night's birthday meal, I'd better crack on.
