  • Thanks all, really looking forward to the year ahead.

First full week in work (except Monday) and have achieved a lot in one setting that needed a good sort out. Still have a big meeting on Tuesday there which will influence the rest of my area.

I've found that I need to adjust how I work as have been too hot and have had headaches all week, think it's because I've been in one place all week.

Next week I'm out and about at various locations so hopefully will be better.

My hours have be sorted with new employer but no word from old employer as to P45 or last pay slip.

Finances wise still in limbo, but have been good at getting back to a meal plan and we did a full shop on Friday evening. Just a couple of bits to get from Mr T in the week.

Kids and DH back to school / work tomorrow and our new routines will kick in.

Busy couple of weekends ahead with DH 50th birthday and our anniversary, we have a few things arranged.

    Have a good Sunday, H x
  • Blimey another week flies by, had a busy but good week. Involved in lots of varied tasks and met some more teams, definitely need to prioritise some meetings over others and after talking to colleagues I'm glad my instincts were right about one of them!

DH birthday today, going out for lunch and my friend is delivering homemade dessert this morning.

We've done really well with food this week and have stretched out a couple of days extra from leftovers.

Yesterday dh sorted through his clothes and shoes, able to give a lot to charity and the bedroom looks so much better.

At some point I need to tidy up the garden but will wait until the wind drops!

Still no P45, I've checked my hmrc account and it definitely says my employment with them has ended. Fully prepared that my tax code will be wrong this month which is a pain.

    Finances:

School bus £450 - Paid, was actually £420

Last school payment £2600 - this will be priority to get it all sorted - still to sort.

Computer £2100 - have made overpayments but will hold off until above is achieved

DH credit card £200 - will pay off when I next get child benefit - will pay this week

Loan - 11 more payments to go (£133.91 per month)

  • All looking good huggle and glad the job is going well. xx
  • Afternoon all, hope you're having a good weekend, we went straight from work/school to the guest house on Friday and out for tea in the evening. Unfortunately on Saturday morning dd was feeling poorly so as we were walking we realised she was suffering so left the kids at a safe car park and walked the rest of the way back to get the car.

Poor thing is still suffering today, so dh and I had a good walk but not quite the fun day out we planned.

We've got her favourite meal for tea so hopefully it will give her a boost!

Pay went in fine and as thought heavily taxed but I emailed ex-workplace and magically my P45 arrived.

Have done my accounts up to when DH gets paid next week.

DH and I joined the gym this morning, it includes swim and classes which is great. I get a discount because of my new job.

Job still going well, had a review on Friday and got told I am doing a fantastic job! Have inherited some difficult staff and need to do 2 disciplinaries this week because of their behaviour. All fun!

Finances ok, food shopping and menu working well. Not much to report but will be some updates this week ahead.

School fees (last one hooray) £662/£2600

  • Morning, morning, morning!

Have a few days off work so not in until Tuesday. It's been a testing couple of days, with a team slating my team and without anyone there to defend us they just heard one-side. My manager and I sorted out most of the details and also the fact that they moaned that we weren't present at the meeting and yet we hadn't been invited!

Anyway some learning points there on our side to document some key facts and also to look at how we respond to requests in a positive way even if we can't fulfill the whole requirement.

Right days off, today catching up with laundry and cleaning. A bit of food shopping and swimming later.

Might try and get in the garden at some point to tidy up.

    Finances:

I didn't pay off DH credit card although I paid some, I thought it would be more useful to send to dd school fees so this is sitting at £810/£2600.

Another payment made to the loan, only 10 more to go.

Need to check balance of DH computer as another bit has come off that too.

DS has a letter to go skiing with school in December and need to pay first part of DoE money. Dd also has an offer to do expedition side of DoE as school isn't doing it.

    Have a happy Friday!

  • A busy day so far, have done loads and it's only just gone midday!

Up to go to the gym for when it opened at 0815, DH and I spent about 45 minutes there.

Pottering around at home, so far I have:
*hung away and reordered washing, things are taking a while to dry so shuffling between airer and radiators.
*been food shopping with dh, took a list and was in and out in 20 mins.
*washed and restocked the bird feeders
*loaded the car with junk from the garden ready to take to the tip tomorrow
*had lunch using up leftovers, a lovely halloumi burger

I've also moved some money from the house fund to dd school fees pot, now have £900/£2600. I will add the saved months from water and council tax into it on Wednesday.

Dd is feeling better but ds now feeling rough, will see how he is in the morning to see if he'll go to school.

  • Gosh you have been busy, i don't feel as though i've achieved very much this morning.

Glad DD is feeling better, hope DS gets over it quickly xx
