Checking in after a couple of horrendous weeks at work, all a bit stressful at times but we're out the other side. Some positives are that a nightmare member of staff has gone and it feels so much better already. A few more challening folk to 'guide' and hopefully we can start to rebuild in a positive manner.Anyway I clocked off early this afternoon to start my week off.A fantastic day yesterday, ds turned 15 and loved his presents. DD got 2 A's in her final A Levels and got her University place confirmed! It's going to be full steam ahead for a few weeks but we are so proud. We went out to celebrate with my parents last night which was lovely.Tomorrow I'm taking Mum back to relatives house in London as she needs a few more bits from there, home Sunday. A few days at home then off to Scotland. As thought it's been an expensive time, so need to be careful for a bit.Finances:It's pay day so I have paid a bit off dh credit card, made an extra payment to his computer which is now under the 700 mark.I have paid for home insurance and need to send over an overpayment to the mortgage.Off to bed in a minute to relax and pack for tomorrow, not much needed for one night away. Will catch up on Monday, ooh must remember that I need to do an assignment for College.H x1

Well done to your DD, sorry work has been stressful hopefully things will improve.
Have a lovely time in Scotland xx1 -
I don't know where to start, just in the middle of horrible family/money situation and it's not going to go well.
Mum will inherit a fair whack of money when the relatives house is sold, she has said we will all get some from it.
I managed to wangle out of her more yesterday, they don't talk about these things btw, like it's a massive secret.
Anyway I found out that they are going to downsize to a bungalow, fair enough they're getting on in years and it will be easier for them to manage. They will then sell their current house. They have no mortgage.
Then she said each of us, that 4 altogether will get 5k each.
5k is 5k but it's a massive kick in the teeth when they could actually help us all out massively and still have plenty to buy the bungalow and live comfortably.
I don't mean to sound begrudging and spoilt but it really has shocked me.
Added to this dh is absolutely fuming, a lot of overreacting but he is fuming. Brother is not happy either.
I'm stuck in the middle and dh and brother don't even know about their plans to move yet!
My family has always been difficult, this is going to wreck it and I hate it.
Some uncomfortable times ahead, H x1 -

Back from a lovely few days in Scotland, we had a great time, spent lots of money but loved every minute.Just about to catch up with finances and plan for September which will be equally expensive as I need to pay for ds last ski trip balance and we need to move dd to Uni in 2 weeks time! We've decided just to carry on and not fall out about the inheritance, Mum could add a 0 to that figure and give us each 50k and still do what they want to do. But hey ho they obviously have their reasons.DH and I are stepping down from our volunteering role, I've done it for 10 years and dh 6, we've got so much going on that we just can't commit anymore.Back to work tomorrow and then full steam ahead with the next chapter of our lives.H x1
