See this is where we come unstuck because when he kicks off at school he 'only' hurts himself so they don't worry..and say they can cope..if he was excluded more often he would be out of there and in a base/special school before his feet hit the ground.
He's flooded the loos, strangled himself til he passed out, nearly put his head through a solid wood door (headbutts are his specialty)and had another child by the neck up against a fence..but he's 'fine'

Sorry to hear that, the system is mad! Robert was never excluded from school! He was just taught in the corridor, he was so loving, he just sat there staring into space. He was not interacting in the classroom & the powers that be decided the best place to teach him was the corridor!

Off to work now! Have a good day!

The meeting with school is apparently because they have had reports from 4 different people at the school and they say 4 completely different things about his behaviour. So they are getting the 4 people together to try to make sense of it. It's frustrating not being able to go, because I do feel like one person in particular who has written a report doesn't 'get' him at all, and acts as though she thinks he is just a naughty child with bad parents.

Ryan's writing is sometimes really neat, but usually messy - all different sizes with back to front letters etc.

DS3 went swimming with his old TA in tow..I thought I'd covered every eventuality by asking them to supervise him properly, telling them what he may do etc...
He has probs dressing and undressing which they do know about BUT hey they know best.*wry grin*

He went swimming in the morning at 10 oclock, school finished at 3.15 he came home and played for a while then sat on my lap...and he was soaking wet  We removed his trousers and his pants were soaked through and his legs and bottom were RED raw.Despite being reminded to help him and supervise him in getting changed noone had told him to remove his pants to put his swimming trunks on so he went in with them on underneath..Then when he got out he 'obviously' kept them on under his trousers because 'thats how you get dressed'...
Noone had noticed ALL day his trousers were literally dripping and his shoes had to be dried out on the radiator..this was in Feb!!

What a fabulous typo for respite care -this thread was getting a bit heavy and you have me giggling. Thank you :rotfl:

:rotfl:lol as I said earlier I always thought it was that as I have never seen it written down

D&DD yes its quite a worry sometimes with Sams temperament. He had me in a headlock the other day while biting his hand and pushing it in my head, which is fine as I understand why he does it, but while in Center Parcs he hit a passing toddler in the head, which was embarrassing to say the least, you never know when he is going to do it.

Rovers my boy had his urine tested at Sunderland as we always thought there was more to his skin rashes than eczema..His tests showed gluten and Casein probs so we embarked on 'the diet'
Meanwhile he's been tested and found to have coeliacs and dermatitus herpeteformis NOT eczema...

Hmmmm. My son has eczema. Quite controlled now but terrible when he was small. Tell me more about the Sunderland testing please, is it expensive?
Sooo impressed that you follow 'the diet' - how cool are you?! Like noahspm I don't think i could do it. if J didn't get up and have some bread how would his day continue?! i know that probably shows he is intolerant though, where to begin though. it's all or nothing isn't it?
Snaggles would you consider asking if you could attend? The idea of someone saying Ryan is naughty has made all my hairs stand up on end, so wrong of them.... the very least you should get is minutes of the meeting but it's your input that's invaluable.

Rovers I'll dig out a link for you later it cost £63 but they can help with costs sometimes. The theory behind it *briefly*is the gluten/casein acts as an opiate in certain individuals as it passes through the lining of the gut into the bloodstream..then into the brain. The foods most craved are bread, dry cereals,butter,icecream,milkshakes...*this was my sons diet when he was 3*..its like an addict trying to get a fix,the 'high' they then get can either make them tune out or blast off depending which thing they eat..(with DS3 dairy affects his speech, gluten makes him walk the ceiling then tune out totally  )

We never really had any problems with Josh been agressive until recently-any anger was turned on himself-which was bad enough but at 16 and six foot two that is changing and it scares me silly. He's also started swearing too again something he's never done. I need to reassess what support he needs especially as he has no EdPysch support anymore since moving to the private school. I need to get this in place earlier rather than later I think. I'm also having to deal with his (absent but involved) Dad at the moment who is gradually finally realising that AS isn't something he will "grow out of".

My son's breakfast this morning: bread, yoghurt and dry cereal - hmmm. when he has bread or pasta he seems pacified/comforted but the effect doesn't last long. Would be interested to have the tests done.
Did your son have bowel problems? J was first referred to psychology at 2.5yrs due to witholding and severe constipation. Just wondered if that's linked as well.
Duchy - my son's nearly 7 and his frustration/aggression is all turned on himself as well, only ever at home he holds it together until then. so sad for them.
