Clicked on 'Get Deal'. Started filling in details and it says the monthly costs would be £23.99. That's a big difference from £15 a month.
Still looks like I'm sticking with PO Broadband.

The price is £23.99 pm then minus the credit averaged over 12 months.
The MSE website says £15 after the discount is applied.
So, how do you get the MSE deal or is it fictitious?

bigg said:According to the Shell Energy website the monthly charge is £23.99, including £107.98 bill credit. The original Shell E monthly charge is £31,99, even that is wrong. £31.99 X 12 = £383.88. Minus £107.98 = £275.90. Divided by 12 = £22.99 a month.

Big GBig G,When I signed up for the previous deal, the email confirmation did say that it was £31.99 per month. A "Promotional Discount 8" was applied & the price was reduced to $23.99 per month. What that email didn't mention was the MSE bill credits. So I did what I described in the previous page. (3 days ago).I don't think the MSE deal is fictitious because if you go direct to the Shell Energy website, you'll only see 18-month deals. Whereas if you go through MSE, you'll only see the 12-month deals.N.B. If you are going to do this, please use separate browsers and/or clear the browser "cookies" so that you don't mix the 2 visits to the websites. This is just a precaution.Having said that, I do think that the process to claim the bill credits is going to involve a fair bit of time on the phone, emails or live chat facility AFTER everything is installed. And it may also depend on how clued up the Shell Energy person is on the promotions that they offer.Hope this helps,1 -

tl;dr: not fictional, read the small print.I am not a financial advisor or other expert. All posts are purely my thoughts at the time for discussion, not advice. Bear in mind, even most of this disclaimer is ripped off another forum user. Please check out the facts first before doing anything.0 -
Need some help here, I signed up at the end of August, Live date 9th Sept. I Can't remember how much I was supposed to be paying. If I had to guess i'd say it was advertised at around £16.50 month after the "discount" is applied
I'm paying £25 per month. still no sign of the discount, is it supposed to be credited to my bill?
how can I find out what deal I would have applied for, is there some sort of archive somewhere

VXman said:I've just had a nightmare few months with Shell Energy gas and electric. I left them because of their incompetence in setting up my account but had so much difficulty in communication. They charged me a £100 exit fee even though I left within the 14 days. They only responded after going through Reslover complaint system.
Broadband sign up was straightforward with no issues and works well.
I am Just getting to the stage of expecting my £120 cash back for my MSE broadband sign up. Dreading sorting it out it if it doesn't come through.0 -

Shell Fast Fibre Broadband is available for the equivalent of £14.99 a month via a special link on Martin Lewis's Moneysavingexpert (MSE) website. The speed will be between 38mb and 55mb.
The usual cost for this package is £32.99. However MSE have negotiated a deal with Shell in which customers will pay £24.99 a month instead of £32.99. Also after 3 months, customers will get bill credit of £120, which is effectively a further price reduction of £10 per month when averaged over the 12 months. The total cost over 12 months is £179.88. Line rental is included. Call packages cost extra. Considering the cheapest normal ADSL slow broadband package I could get would be £13.99 from plusnet (after factoring in a £75 mastercard reward), it was a no brainer for me to go for the Shell fast fibre for just £1.
The Shell fast broadband deal expires on monday 31st August and I stress again it is only available via the special link on MSE's website.
The link to the MSE page is pasted below. You will need to open that page and find the link for the shell energy deal.
