Just had a look at the new deal on MSE. It says £15 effective monthly cost.
Clicked on 'Get Deal'. Started filling in details and it says the monthly costs would be £23.99. That's a big difference from £15 a month.
Still looks like I'm sticking with PO Broadband.

The price is £23.99 pm then minus the credit  averaged over 12 months.
According to the Shell Energy website the monthly charge is £23.99, including £107.98 bill credit. The original Shell E monthly charge is £31,99, even that is wrong. £31.99 X 12 = £383.88. Minus £107.98 = £275.90. Divided by 12 = £22.99 a month.

The MSE website says £15 after the discount is applied.
So, how do you get the MSE deal or is it fictitious?

    Big G,
When I signed up for the previous deal, the email confirmation did say that it was £31.99 per month. A "Promotional Discount 8" was applied & the price was reduced to $23.99 per month. What that email didn't mention was the MSE bill credits.
So I did what I described  in the previous page. (3 days ago).

I don't think the MSE deal is fictitious because if you go direct to the Shell Energy website, you'll only see 18-month deals. Whereas if you go through MSE, you'll only see the 12-month deals.
N.B. If you are going to do this, please use separate browsers and/or clear the browser "cookies" so that you don't mix the 2 visits to the websites. This is just a precaution.

Having said that, I do think that the process to claim the bill credits is going to involve a fair bit of time on the phone, emails or live chat facility AFTER everything is installed. And it may also depend on how clued up the Shell Energy person is on the promotions that they offer.

    Hope this helps,

You might want to click through from MSE, then click the "Promotion terms and conditions" link which takes you to https://www.shellenergy.co.uk/info/broadband/promotion/terms, wherein all of the details and the mechanism by which they are applied are set out.

tl;dr: not fictional, read the small print.

Need some help here, I signed up at the end of August, Live date 9th Sept. I Can't remember how much I was supposed to be paying. If I had to guess i'd say it was advertised at around £16.50 month after the "discount" is applied
I'm paying £25 per month. still no sign of the discount, is it supposed to be credited to my bill?
how can I find out what deal I would have applied for, is there some sort of archive somewhere

I signed up in February, the way it worked for me was something like paid the normal price for 3 months, next 3 months were free, next month was not full price then the remaining months are full price.

I've just had a nightmare few months with Shell Energy gas and electric. I left them because of their incompetence in setting up my account but had so much difficulty in communication. They charged me a £100 exit fee even though I left within the 14 days. They only responded after going through Reslover complaint system.

Broadband sign up was straightforward with no issues and works well.

I am Just getting to the stage of expecting my £120 cash back for my MSE broadband sign up. Dreading sorting it out it if it doesn't come through.
Well - totally gobsmacked today. Got an email telling me I will receive my £120 MSE credit on my broadband account this month. Wasn't expecting that.  After the debacle with their energy supply I am pleasantly shocked that their Broadband supply and service has been pain free and very cheap!

I think you must have been on the same deal as me. I signed up mid to late August and started the service on 1st September As commented on post above I just received my  £120 credit. It is due after 3 months. Below is the info on the deal that I saved at the time....

Shell Fast Fibre Broadband is available for the equivalent of £14.99 a month via a special link on Martin Lewis's Moneysavingexpert (MSE) website. The speed will be between 38mb and 55mb.

The usual cost for this package is £32.99. However MSE have negotiated a deal with Shell in which customers will pay £24.99 a month instead of £32.99. Also after 3 months, customers will get bill credit of £120, which is effectively a further price reduction of £10 per month when averaged over the 12 months. The total cost over 12 months is £179.88. Line rental is included. Call packages cost extra. Considering the cheapest normal ADSL slow broadband package I could get would be £13.99 from plusnet (after factoring in a £75 mastercard reward), it was a no brainer for me to go for the Shell fast fibre for just £1.

The Shell fast broadband deal expires on monday 31st August and I stress again it is only available via the special link on MSE's website.

The link to the MSE page is pasted below. You will need to open that page and find the link for the shell energy deal.

How is everyone going with the auto bill credits within 3 months?
I'm not quite at 3 months yet but don't expect anything without a fight with these clowns.
    Hopefully I'll be surprised.
    Email received saying credited £120.
    I am surprised.
