I was reading 'asharons' post and it reminded me of the sort of thing I do. If I see someone poking around all the fruit very carefully selecting the best one I have been known to ask them which one they consider to be second best ... some people don;t have a sense of humour though

Sorry to drag this thread up again but it occurs to me that the OP may actually have been trying to get even more discount by removing the bad banana. Hmmm??

Oh I actually missed the year , thought it was this year. The thread is being referred to quite a lot on another current thread hence me reading it.

I felt a bit sorry for the OP actually. I thought it sounded like Tesco staff were pretty heavy handed. Plus, my local Tesco frequently sell black bananas.
