I dont see why you took the banana out of the bag before you bought it.

The bananas were being sold by weight, not per bag so the OP took the bad banana out because they did not want to pay for something they would just throw away which I think is quite reasonable. He just went about it the wrong way :rolleyes: - he (or she) should have taken it to the checkout and asked the cashier to remove the bad one before she weighed it. I'm sure they would have done this for him.

Or you could argue that it was the bag that was being sold as a single item, with the price being determined at the checkout, by the weight
