That is really good news that your colleague would like you to appeal and is supporting you. Try not to get stressed by this (easier said than done) What is the worse case scenario you will be in the position you are already in?
Yes Baileys Babe you are completely right :0 I guess I just want to stick my head in the sand lol

  • Good Morning Sunday,

I'm rather bleary eye'd! Bad night sleep with the little one & getting to bed late is a bad combination! Silly mummy me forgot to stick the second lot of washing on Friday and doah ended up with no bedding for mini mee to sleep in so he had to bunk him with me. Normally not a problem but he's recently regressed with potty training and now wetting the bed again. He was wet in the night in my bed and scrambling around for pj's whilst not waking the older one we got changed and then back to bed. Then woke at yukky 6 am to find second set of pj's went grrrrrr... My partner who works nights was sleeping on the sofa too. Yikes not good start to the day. Clean bedding was pegged outside last night at 10 am! Can't say I've done that before but hey ho!

Yesterday was a kid free me day. A bit late to the party but discovered Fleabag on Iplayer! Wow fabulous, binge watching for quite a good part of the day followed by a long walk - felt I needed the exercise so took myself on a hilly circular route covering three local parks which was great. Made an Amazon order and bought study stuff for both kids after my kids school confirmed they are not opening on the 1st June so now thinking long haul till September. Note to self - need to really think about the spending. I seem to be in a bit of spending spree. Some months seem to go like that. I also logged on to work computer and now have a date for my job appeal. I'd like to post more about how I am feeling about it but hey ho.

In the whim of trying something new I have started making a sour dough starter after seeing the many posts about this on FB. So day 1 and day 2 feeds have been done and I'll keep my diary updated with how I get on.

  • This week has been quite a week. I had a job interview on weds. I didn't get the job and tbh it wasn't the right one for me and then on Thursday was the appeal meeting. Meeting in itself was fine but I didn't win. I wasn't too surprised but just glad to get it over and done with. So come this weds its my last day. In all honesty if I could hand the computer over on Monday I would as I have zero desire to spend anymore time on it.

Not quite sure what form the next job will take and with the current situation with schools I am kinda having to write off the rest of the year. I'd like to think I might be able to get a temp Christmas contract - we will see. Even though I wont have money coming in I will carry on using my savings to pay off the debt. That was one of the brilliant things this job did - it got me in some good habits.

Last week I decided to pick up one of my many cross stitch projects which had been started but not completed and am now busy working on this in my bit of free time with  a cheeky glass or two. Oh and the other thing I have been upto was making sure my annual membership for my accounting course was paid (it was due now). I am going to start studying again and get myself booked for exams. I was so close to this last time and then this job came up and it went out of the window.

  • Last night was fun watching the rocket launch. Kids were so excited they were bouncing!

This week is going to be a change in pace - on Weds I hand in the laptop and clear out my locker. Will be strange as the office is closed. Must be my most bizarre leaving experience to date. I will feel sadness, bitterness but relief at the same time. It was a bit of a fantasy situation. Anyway I will stop going on and on...I've read one or two diaries where spread betting is mentioned and surveys. I plan to take a good look into these and to also sort out some home contents insurance. Frankly we don't have it so that's on the list for this week. I am also going to tackle the ugly subject of home schooling. With all the sh*t with the job there was not a lot of opportunity to get into this so I want to do a bit with the kids. Mainly playing games, bit of reading and maths.

Please, please, please prioritise the insurance. A couple of years ago a family members house caught fire they escaped with their lives and the clothes the stood in. Everything is was lost.

Your home schooling plans sound good, what age are your children?

Hey Clarissa, I’ve just caught up. I think it’s a little bit of a blessing in disguise with your job, you can focus on you and The children and hopefully like you say find something temp at Xmas. Keep your chin up lovely x
  • Good Morning, so today is the last day of my awful job. Happy to leave but sad because of the missed opportunities but it wasn't meant to be. This is also the scary time of being completely unemployed from tomorrow and all that it brings but on the whole I am in brighter spirits. Decided to chuck myself into home schooling the kids and just enjoying the summer. One of the items on the wish list is a tent. We have a narrow garden and tent that I own with ex is too big for garden so on the hunt for a smaller and lightweight one as i'm hoping to actually take the kids to a proper campsite during the summer if possible. Don't currently drive though so camping has become difficult to do.

  • So day 1 of lock down part B and so far a pretty relaxed morning. My sour dough starter looks good to go so will give bread making a go this morning. Yesterday I ordered a tent too so that should arrive next week and then when the weather picks up again we can camp out in the garden. Need to check sleeping bags and air bed situation at my exH as he has all our old camping gear.

I must say my desk looks a bit strange with its gap where the work's laptop used to be. Over the summer I plan to sort out the files and photos on desktop pc and then in the autumn treat myself to a laptop and get the files shared on both computers so it doesn't matter whether I am home or out and about I can access everything. Ie this mum is getting upto date with technology! Lol oh and windows 10!

I am officially an old lady! No its not my birthday, I just can't keep my eyes open and its not even 10pm! The sourdough starter is now progressed into dough and is on its last hour of proving. Then time for baking at 11pm! i might need to have a nap... zz

Today was a pretty quiet day - spent home schooling and pottering about in the garden. I've decided I want to keep a bit of a private journal so treated myself to a more fancy looking journal notebook and a gardening magazine.
