Nope, not a wind up - a bit of fun with a serious purpose. Its a catchy wee-tune. If Sheila's Wheels can launch a record...Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

From that, you're getting sent two texts - one now, and one in January. They'll cost Martin about 8p each, so that's 16p.
You're texting a shortcode number, so it costs him about another 8p a text to receive.
Then there's the record company's costs, (not profit - just costs), and a royalty to Sony BMG for the original tune, both coming out of the remaining 34p.
The cost to you has to be at least 40p for it to count towards the Official Charts (see www.theofficialcharts.com).

Just sent the text. 50p well spent.0

Having listened to it, it is definitely over priced ... in theory it should have worked but in practice it is very disappointing.

What happened to the money saving rules? If you’re skint
Do I need it?
Can I afford it?
Have I checked if it’s cheaper anywhere else?
If you’re not skint
Will I use it?
Is it worth it?
Have I checked if it’s cheaper anywhere else?

I can't help thinking this is a waste of time and money. Surely a petition on the governments site would be better and far mor constructive.0
