I'm not sure what kind of phone you have. If you have an envelope symbol, press that and then look down the menu for 'new message', select this option, type banker and then 'ok' then 'send to' option should come up. type in 82822 and then 'ok/send/green symbol' button on your phone (I have a Motorola) On Nokia phones there is a central button which provides menu options. Hope this helps:icotbaske0 -
Thank you JR. It still sounds double dutch but that is precise instructions and I will follow it to the letter. Yes I have a nokia. Will try it now. It is going to be fun to see just how many people will send this to NUMBER 1 you know. I can not believe the people on here quibbling about the 50 pence and about the quality of the song.
This is not about the greatest composer of all times but about the greatest money saver of all times Martin. Martin and all of you have saved me about a thousand pound this year. I still can not believe the savings I have made everywhere. This about mass publicity for everyone's benefit.
The only thing I do not like about it is that another 1 million people will sign up for the news letter and all the wonderful deals will be gone quicker. lolllllllllllll only joking or am I????????????????? Taffy0 -
I have bought this ! hooray.
this site is brilliant. it has helped me turn my financial life around in the last year and helped me realise how money works, something i should have known but had never bothered to listen. I have saved hundreds, possibly thousands of pounds because of this site. Martin you are a star.:j0 -

I s'pose if you're Martin Lewis and can afford a cellphone or two, you're alright.
But it's very discriminatory to those who don't have or don't want one.

This was a deliberately picked deivery channel; as its easy and cheap to do. Setting up record distribution that counts for the charts isn't an easy process when you've never done it before.
Mobile phone ownership is now near, though not quite universal. However remember this is the 'pre-release' offer. On the day of release (7 Jan) you will be able to buy it from the usual music channels e.g Itunes; and effectively you'll have the song on the same day. The only difference then is the retailers want a cut of it so it costs more; yet I've no control over that.

Martin please can you put a counter for number of downloads / texts for this on your front page I am sure it will encourage people if they see the numbers going up. And for those who are whinging about the song / cost: I have not reclaimed bank charges - I always yelled at the bank as I went along and haven't had too many - but I have saved hundreds of pounds via this site and I consider this payback! Just texted - go for it Martin.0

Did the original song not involve fighting the law, and the law winning?
Possibly not the most appropriate song to have chosen!0 -
ok, so by the sounds of things:
- the song is poor/mediocre quality (so unlikely to go to #1),
- neither the band, record label nor MoneySavingExpert.com profit from the song (so the phone company will be raking it in),
- it's the publicity that counts.
Let's face it - this is 'MONEY SAVING expert', so let's save some money and allow the track to reach a wider audience at the same time. If you're after a spot of viral advertising, selling a substandard track to the immediate financial benefit of none but an unconcerned phone company is probably not the best way to go about it...
ps. I just noted littlescarlets comment that she has "saved hundreds of pounds via this site and I consider this payback". AFAIK, the ONLY people benefittting from this financially are the phone company, so who are you 'paying back' exactly ?0
