  • OK the song could be better, but the banks are going to hate this if it goes to number 1.

As a regular user of MSE for a number of years I have used the site to find deals on airport parking, holiday insurance and loads of other things.

I am now using it to take on my bank for being unfair and get MY money back.

Even if the song is poor, the publicity that this will give to MSE will be immense.

I have now moved overseas - only to France, but there is no consumer power here.

Even the French give in when taking on the shops - there is no customer service, no consumer power and the big companies take every opportunity to rip the public off.

It is like the consumer power in the UK 30 years ago.

I would love there to be a version of MSE over here.

SO even if the song isn't the best - support the campaign and keep people power so strong that the UK banks and government cannot ignore it.

you never know when MSE will take up a campaign that you do want to support !!!!
  • 50p........thats all. I don't understand why this song is being picked at. For goodness sake it's only 50p not £50. Whilst signing a petition on downing street may prove useful (doubt it), this way of doing it, is fun. I enjoyed it and will definitely be passing it around for others to download.
I received all my overdraft fees back and therefore feel that 50p is, as the other poster said, MONEY WELL SPENT
" A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it "

" A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist "

  • I'd love it to go to number 1 just to show that people power does work.
50p of my money well spent, considering the amount this site has helped me claim money back and given me suggestions at how to save even more.

  • What happened to the money saving rules?
    If you’re skint
    Do I need it?
    Can I afford it?
Have I checked if it’s cheaper anywhere else?
    If you’re not skint
    Will I use it?
    Is it worth it?
Have I checked if it’s cheaper anywhere else?

(Obviously the last of the two rules above doesn't apply here)

I can't help thinking this is a waste of time and money. Surely a petition on the governments site would be better and far mor constructive.

You must have missed this email from August, shame as the petition has now closed....

  • Just sent the text, not the best song in the world but as clodhopper says ''Even if the song is poor'', the publicity that this will give to MSE will be immense'' I'm doing it as a 'thank you' to MSE for all the money saving I've done over the last couple of years through Martins site (including bank charge refunds for my daughter and son in law, something I would never have done if it hadn't been for MSE)
  • Just about to send now! Hope it does its job and raises awareness!

  • Hi Martin and all you wonderful people. Love the video and the song, I am one of those people that have a mobile phone and hardly ever use it. One of the old fashioned ones. Even tho I am fairly good with the computer and the internet I do not have a clue how to text the banker etc. I have tried to look on the email and on the site to see how to do it but it tells about the song and how it can reach number 1 but not how to text.
In this day and age of technology I guess everyone assumes that you can do it. Because I lived the last 30 years in Canada I am mobile phone inept. In Canada all local calls have always been free night and day and living there people do not text one another like they do here because they can just pick up the phone it's free. Also in Canada they do not have pay as you go mobiles just monthly fees and calls are included in your fees so no reason to text. It has been 3 years since I left so things could have changed.

Anyway the reason for my post is that I have received texts from people but I have never texted myself except on 2 occassions to reply to the person. I do not have a clue how to text banker
. Please help me with instructions and I hope it will help someone else who is not text literate too and afraid to ask or show their ignorance.
This is too important for me to ignore even tho I have not benefited from the bank charge reversal many thousands have and I thank you for that Martin. Taffy
  • i am doing it after all the money martin has saved me thanks martin
