    Morning all!

    Not an MSE start to the day - made my sandwich for lunch, only to then leave it on the kitchen side!

    Today I have/ will:
    * Do washing up
    * Put a washing load on 30 degree eco wash - given OH instructions to hang on line!
    * Squeeze out toothpaste tube
    * Go to gym at lunch
    * Buy cheap lunch!
    * Snap receipt
    * Look into change phone contract (sim only so thought I had a good deal - I don't) 10 minutes on the phone and reduced from £17.92 to £8 per month!
    * Call ee to try haggle price!
    * Maybe pick some blackberries
    * Dinner from stores
    * Wash face with flannel

    That's everything I can think of for now. Hope you all have a good day.
    Starting again..
  • Just had a catch up and hope that everyone out of sorts, poorly, under the weather -including CCL cat (vet bills can be the worse headache) are feeling better soon.

    I went into hospital on Monday but a few changes meant that I didn't have to stay which was the original plan. Have been very grumpy as have been told that it can take up to a year to recover. I'm the most impatient patient going so wasn't very happy. Plus next operation will go ahead in 8 months and an extra specialist has to be brought in.
    Just thought I will work really hard to get my stamina and fitness up again only for it to be knocked down again so had a self wallowing miserable day yesterday but today feeling happier today

    Will be a bit of a spendy day today. We have a lovely Dutch pancake house here. Lovely local business that does a cracking trade all year round. DD and I have been planning a pancake trip for awhile

    Banking checked, everything good. Need to claim some monies back and bank a cheque
    Quidco-have had a really good payout. DD and I have been wanting to do a M&S trip for ages so decided to cash out and get an extra 5% by requesting a M&S voucher.

    Had to order a new washing machine as the old one decided to completely pack up. It was never great but new one will be delivered Friday. It has been very spendy recently :(

    Need to get some birthday presents wrapped that can go with a family relative this weekend-big saving on postage.
    Need to get a parcel posted, just haven't had the time
    Will be starting back on the main RM panel next month. Currently doing the unadressed survey but when checking found that I had a top up of points on their new voucher system-will save for Christmas

    Can'take think of anything else.
    Have a great day everyone x

    Well not really a spendy day but kind of a unexpectedly bad day.
    I was expecting a bit of coming and going of both boys and a bit of lunch and a bit of flexibility, a lot of sorting boxes and getting ready for term starting on Tuesday. And then boom crash half way through hanging the laundry I got a call from a very incoherent ds. He crashed on his bike.
    Anyways to make a long story short I spent 7 hours in A and E and ds got the full treatment, and got out with a split lip w stitches all of arms and legs and lower face grazed and an arm broken in 2 places, and arms and legs grazed. And no concussion as he was wearing a helmet.
    I feel the cause was a combination of me running my life the same way the council runs their potholes - a bit of patching here and there, but never quite catching up. The breaks on my bike were due to be replaced and he rode it down a steep hill anyways and hit a council pothole. With a bit of luck he's asleep now but he's a real mess.
    MSE wise though I rode into A and E with him in the ambulance and was planning to take a taxi home - not far, but we got a lift with the dad! I only spend money on some painkillers for him, as he couldn't eat anyways and I didn't want to eat so all in all a daft afternoon, makes me sad, but uni son was great brought phone charger cables on his bike and went and hung out with his friends a bit, also dropped by and made silly (slightly uncalled for ) jokes.
    So thats me, only spent 5.50 at the end of the day, but now bike needs full rewire and I think I will get ds new headphones or something to cheer him up!

    Popping in to try and catch up, I'm currently reading Tuesdays posts.

    ditty Good luck to ds for tomorrow.

    Ziggy my nephew did his NCS earlier in the summer, he appeared to enjoy it.

    CLF OH was in hospital earlier in the year with pneumonia, we were shocked how long it takes to recover, until very recently he was still struggling, in the last few weeks he has improved, please bare in mind he is not as young as yourself and is chronically ill.

    Edit to add

    ditty Sorry to hear about ds' accident, wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

    Morning folks!

    Ditty - I'm sorry to hear about your ds's accident. It's not your fault though, sometimes these things happen. Sounds like it was more the pothole to me. I would probably get on to the council about that! Maybe they will pay for the new headphones!

    BB - sorry your OH was so unwell. I hope he's back to as well as he can be now x

    HK - not like you so sound so downcast. I hope you're on the up again xx

    Had another good night's sleep under my belt which makes me happy. I was having a fairly chipper day in work yesterday until ex=colleague turned client from hell got on the phone. Hot damn that person is a complete a-hole. Still it was a conference call and the person made all my other work mates mad too :D

    Glad I'm off today though. I've got a list of things to do. Some mse, some not:
    :heartpuls B/D from stores. Poss L out. Nothing too dear though. - done
    :heartpuls Go to local outlet village to buy a few holiday bits. I need a bikini top and some sandals. OH needs new shorts. - Got some pretty walking sandals and accidentally bought a really cute dress that I looked fab in :D
    :heartpuls Reconcile budget sheet - done
    :heartpuls Wash duvet cover on spare bed as MIL wants to stay over tomorrow! Duvet cover is clean, but dusty as no one has stayed. - done
    :heartpuls List a load of bits of FIL's on ebay then hide them from MIL. :( - done
    :heartpuls General cleaning, tidying and washing - done
    :heartpuls Tried to sort a computer problem. We are sometimes getting a blue screen of death caused by "arthurx.sys". Investigation shows that this is the driver for the wireless adaptor. Further investigation unfortunately shows that the drivers do not go up to windows 10 so I think I need a new one. Grrr.

    Will add any more that I do

    Have a good one all

  • My goodness ditty - your poor ds! Thank god he was wearing a helmet. I hope he's feeling ok today (although suspect he may be uncomfortable for a couple of days).
    All quiet here today - I've been into school for results. It's good news, the school has improved and my department results have improved. My chemistry results are much improved from last year and a good lot of my class got the top grades so I'm very proud of the kids there.
    Nothing much else happening this afternoon apart from my analysing results - maybe a bit of crochet.

    Evening all :)
    Hope your DS is ok Ditty - poor thing :(
    Congrats to you and your students on exam results CCL :T
    ((Hugs)) to everyone else - better keep to virtual ones as I am disease ridden atm :( Had virtually no sleep due to coughing, went to bed for a while this afternoon but coughed again, best to stay upright!
    So, not much done today:
    HG berries for breakfast
    Tidied kitchen
    Dog to groomer for a much needed haircut this morning
    Decided a coffee with OH in the nearby garden centre was more cost effective than driving home for the hour and then having to drive back.
    Plenty of food in the fridge so virtually no cooking needed, just some rice
    Packed a couple of ebay sales
    Ordered a book I wanted from Amazon, but no proper money spent as I had gift card 'money' from surveys :)
    Persuaded OH to part with a pile of odd golf clubs that he doesn't use (not the set he uses, or his spare set - rolls eyes) as a freecycler is asking for some for a charity upcycling project. He is coming to collect them tomorrow, so will ask him how you upcycle golf clubs! Anyway, a pile of clattering junk gone out of the garage - result :T
    OH is going away for a few days from tomorrow to help out a friend with some ground work, so hoping to feel better so I can get lots done! (And get rid of more junk :cool: :D)
  • Hi everyone :D ditty how frightening for your ds and you. Hope he's ok today x

    Haven't been up to much today. Stayed in and made a dress for my weekend away. It's a bit tight so after the weekend I think I'll take apart the side seams and add a gusset but for this weekend it's great :D just need to hem it

    Did TOMM already 2 weeks in my house is much more orderly and I'm only doing 30 mins of hw a day :T

    had last of chorizo & chickpea stew for lunch :money:

    did a load of washing, hung on line and put away

    that's all!

    Thanks for well wishes everybody, I took ds to see nurse this afternoon and she was great and confirmed that all looked right, the poor kid the area between his nose and upper lip was perforated by gravel from the outside and teeth from the inside, so not a pretty sight, but it's all started healing now, and it will have calmed down before he has to start sixth form ... in his regular school he passed al of his gcse's with passable grades so basically all is well.
    This afternoon ended in an other emergency and I had to go to London - an hour each way - to pick up my son after he had a seizure on the train. He was fine and people were kind, but how devastating is that for him. But I made it back, brought snack for train, bought him a ticket to come home, so I made it out and back in 2,5 hours so that was great.
    So that is enough of emergencies and upsets, now I just want a long calm bank holl weekend, with a couple of long runs, a swim and I have booked a walk w a friend.
    All is well all will heal, and I just want to sleep!
