    Afternoon all!

    Today's MSE list:
    - take books back to library
    - teeny tiny supermarket shop (need to do list)
    - walk pooch
    - try and make house smell a bit less doggy... perhaps I should also look into TOMM

    Hope everyone is ok :)

    Afternoon all!

    Today I have/will:
    * Do washing up
    * Squeeze out old toothpaste tube
    * Use leftover sausages as part of lunch
    * Take lunch to work
    * Reconcile spreadsheet (noticed an error where I'd put something in the wrong column!)
    * Do free pilates class at work
    * Change up coins that i didn't manage to do yesterday
    * Check OP and PA for surveys
    * Charge phone in work
    * Get daily goal on sweatcoins
    * Give tortoises a bit of garden time and turn off lamp whilst they're out
    * Dinner from stores (although no idea what yet!)
    * Wash hair and let dry naturally

Can't think of anything else for now. Hope you're all having a good day.

  • Hello
Well I have been a busy bunny this morning and I am literally just getting to sit down now.
I was woken up by a text from an ex tutee at 7am with his A-level results (2B's in his sciences :j) but then started plodding on for the day.
I had to take 2 of the cats to the vets this morning - my sickly ones that always need check ups.
Then went to the beauty place for my patch test for next week's appointment
Then to Mr S for the 'weekly' shop (only 5 days after the last one )
Bought ds polo shirts at Mr S, plus 25% off there at the moment :T
Got home and my veggie box had arrived so unpacked that. I have an unbelievable number of courgettes, lots of corn cobs and 2 massive bags of chard. I still have absolutely no idea what to use chard for as I don't like it very much...
Prepped a sausage, bacon and bean casserole in the slow cooker.
Had a read through a couple of my recipe books looking for inspiration...
Emptied the bins, hoovered, put the recycling out and did my daily decluttering.
A bit of crochet - this effing blanket is getting the better of me and I'm getting a bit fed up now. Interested to find out about this crochet project foxgloves :D
I'm thinking I might have to have a wee nap now.

    Hello all :)
DNMS, you are not old because you need varifocals. I am actually old, but only need to wear glasses if I want to read really small print or thread needles etc. It isn't your age, it is your eyesight!

Dry here today (though rain forecast again for tomorrow) so have a) dried out wet camper van awning, draped over furniture on patio, and b) done a load of washing and dried on the line :T
    Other things:
    Checked banks

Picked tomatoes, a cucumber, courgettes, raspberries and beans from the garden. Am about to freeze some of the beans and raspberries :)
Dragged vax cleaner (weighs about the same as a centurion tank) upstairs and cleaned out floor of wardrobe, and put new moth killer things on the hangers. Found a blouse I had forgotten about :D Not sure how that happened as there really isn't very much in there!
Hose of vax then fell apart (again ) so OH has fixed it (again). Threw some rubbishy plastic and wire coat hangers in the recycling bin. Really need to get up there and finish the cleaning. I am sure the TOMM lady doesn't have this trouble :rotfl:
Interestingly, her blog posts seem to be unavailable, at the same time as she has a book on pre-order. I won't be buying it! I did look at some of the Youtube videos, but my eyes glazed over (I am not a fan of most Youtube videos tbh). Maybe I am too scatty and disorganised :rotfl:

Took a big item to sales unit, and was pleased to see that several items had sold :T
Small shop in Mr S. They had the teabags that OH likes, and the coffee that I like on offer, so I bought a couple of each :)
Lunch was (and dinner will be) made from food I bought back from our short camping trip (would have been longer but for the rotten weather) plus garden stuff.
Now need to sort out vax, blanch beans, record spends and put shopping away before it is time to make dinner!

DNMS I have had to get new varifocals too this week. Because I have an eye problem I have had to spend £400 on them, which I was not expecting. I have £300 saved for emergencies which I have used. Will just have to find the other £100 from somewhere else.

I follow the Flylady thread on here, but dip in and out of TOMM too. The main thing is that you try and do a little every day I think.

Well done on the voucher win LaE!

    Hi August Austerity-Fans,

Quick post while I'm on a break.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Five:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Packed lunch for work. Done.

    * Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. I'm up to 317/500. Cycled a couple of kilometers along the prom earlier. It was way too busy, this is why I always go at quieter times.

    * DW is de-cluttering her camera kit. That's £800s worth sold on. :lipsrseal

    Morning all :hello:

Little list as I need to get on my way to work. In the office today so only a little list:

Gift a jar of my jam, did think of looking for some pretty labels on line. But had a word with myself and the white ones we have are fine
    It’s payday :j
Big money shuffle tonight. My favourite kind of Friday :D
Get something out of freezer to avoid the pay day/busy week /we’re now on holiday takeaway
Did some cleaning yesterday, just a bit more to do tonight
One final check of fridge. Do a shelf of things that won’t survive until we’re back so I can put in a bag tomorrow to take with us and nothing is missed.
Cashed out £3 from £co. That means I’m only 30p away from my 1p challenge. I’ll find that from another account and when the £3 hits work out what to do with the £667.95 I’ve saved using this method since Jan 1st :T

Think that’s all now. Have a good Friday folks.

    Hi everyone

Purps - I'm going to make some jam today as I have 2 punnets of strawberries :) I love the sound of your Friday night doing the big money shuffle! Nowt like getting organised. :D

Ally - That's great about your wife selling her camera stuff!! :T My hubby did too, but ended up just swapping it/putting it towards another lens!!

So, I failed in my mission to speak to the mortgage people - I could've left a voicemail but then I didn't want her calling me back when I was busy with baby or whatever so I'll just try again later...

    Here's me:
    - brekkie with my own oat milk :D
    - HM bread with HM soup for lunch :D
    - SC chicken for dinner - I have a chat set up with some pals to swap SC recipes (because we are that cool ) and this is one of their ideas. Keeping meal time ideas fresh y'see :rotfl:
    - Check banking/YNAB - have I ever told you how much YNAB has changed my life?! :rotfl: To think I'm not working atm, and it's 2 weeks until pay day and we have over 3 months' salary stashed away! I really don't think we could've done it without YNAB, no other system seemed to work for us.
    - Need to look into home insurance and not go with renewal quote (thanks to YNAB I have money stashed away for it :p)
    - Mainly using white vinegar for cleaning
    - Online shop - definitely saves me money
    - Need to arrange to pick up my prize draw vouchers :T
    - We're off to visit OH's family this weekend so no cooking/cleaning here, but I really should organise something easy for Sunday night when we get back as otherwise we'll end up with a takeaway purely because of lack of prep/thinking ahead!

    Have a good Friday everyone!
