    Life. Win. :D

Lol I had been fretting about it! Also have £30 returned now so I'm feeling positively flush.

Not many specifically MSE activities otherwise, but no spending either, pootling along.

    Hope everyone is ok today.

    Evening all :)
Been away for a couple of days in our old camper van, to try out the new awning. Only to DD1's, so no cost, and we took food with us. Would have stayed longer, but the weather is foul  Good news is that the awning stood up well to wind and heavy rain (it only cost about £90 and had to be ordered from the Netherlands, was recommended on a web site regarding the type of camper van we have) but the downside is that we now have a wet tent to dry! Hopefully it can go out on the line tomorrow!
Got back, removed stuff that needed to be removed from the camper van (food, clothes, wet stuff, etc)
Cooked some of the food we brought back with us for dinner
OH appears to be doing the washing up

Looking forward to a bath :)
Going to check receipts and note spends in diary, and check out the organised mum method first!
  • Dawn TOMM is really good! I'm behind now as my mood has been low so I haven't done anything. Might force myself to do a little. My hallways are titchy so really shouldn't take that long! Might do it now in the hope it lifts my spirits

So today ended up being a pyjama day which was much needed with plenty of crochet and OITNB while the kids got along with each other for once, playing on their ds games together. I have gotten lots of frog jobs done though...

    TS - congratulations on the job(s) :j

[STRIKE]I need to do the usual household stuff - washing, dishes, hoover, rubbish and recycling[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Cross another job off the frog list (I did 2 yesterday so I'm thrilled with that)[/STRIKE] managed 4! Soon I will need to think of more frogs :D
    [STRIKE]Aim for nsd[/STRIKE]

Round stuff up from fridge to use before holiday
    Clean through
    Get some washing out
Sort out a box that’s ended up with various stuff in it an declutter
    Lots of work

Well done in the job trailing spouse
dnms hope you’re feeling ok. Funerals are always hard. What is this TOMM that’s amazing that you talk if?

    Morning Frugalistas,
Just enjoyed catching up on all your news before getting started on my day. Sorry to hear about the funeral, DNMS. I'm no good at them either.
Trailing Spouse - Good news on the job front.
CCL... Re crochet & Christmas presents, I meant to tell you about a nice little v cheap (prob free) project I saw, but I never got round to it. Will try to remember. Well, conservatory looks brighter after yesterday's 'shopped from home' sewing session, so that was worth doing. Guests arriving tomorrow morning so lots of prep jobs for that today:
*Make up nephew 2's bed & put covers on duvet & pillows for nephew 1 (who is bringing a roll-out futon).
*Put ham hock in slow cooker. Later remove meat ready for sandwiches (picnic).
*Bake biscuits. Remember Twink's (?) hobnob recipe which appeared on the forums years ago? I'm baking those as the recipe makes a lot & they're really nice (& no rolling out of dough required).
*Defrost some of the batch of pesto I made the other week to sort tonight's meal.
*Plenty of free fitness dashing around wielding the Dyson.
    *Water greenhouse veg.
*Line cake tins ready to knock up a quick birthday cake tomorrow morning.
*Cast on a Christmas present if my yarn order arrives today.
    *Write shopping list for guests'visit.
*Do at least a small amount of garden clearing as want to maximise paid-for garden waste bin collection which is tomorrow.
I think everything else is likely to be cleaning & tidying.
OK, best crack on. Actually putting some clothes on would feel like a start!
Oh, & I solved the mystery of the missing £91, but I've already related that tale in my dfw diary so shan't repeat myself..... I was pleased. my forensic investigations were successful though.

  • Morning :D just a quick post as I've got an appt in town today so need to leave by 10!

    Today:

    * load of washing & line dry
    * collect varifocal glasses - eek I'm old!
    * TOMM - Kitchen so far I've de-limescaled my sink, tackled the disgusting job of cleaning my blind - anything that gets me to do that is nothing short of a miracle! - and cleaned on top of fridge. Will do this in fits and spurts as I won't be able to hold motivation for more than 30 mins at a time!
    * make batch of chickpea & chorizo stew for working week
    * quick shower
    * catch the bus £4 and don't have petrol/hassle costs
    * bake birthday cake for mil
    * pick up a gift for mil while in town
    * make a list of things I need to do while in town
    * cook and preserve beetroot :D
    * playing with madam, painting with madam
    * sewing - I will make time for this today!
    * possibly job search if I have time/cbb

ok that'll do me for the minute! Better get my skates on!

    Hi everyone

Trailing Spouse - sounds great about the jobs. Well done you :T And sounds perfect timing for Christmas discount ;)

Aw DNMS, hope you are feeling ok today... You sound brighter from your post today :)

Dawn - Yeah, definitely check out the organised mum. :D I've been finding that I am actually looking forward to cleaning and as I see bits that are needing doing around the house I've been thinking 'oh, I'll get that on Thursday' etc :rotfl:

Purps - definitely look into the organised mum method - it's a cleaning blog that we've been getting excited about :rotfl:

We're off out for lunch with my old team today. I'm hoping that baby sleeps through the whole meal like she did last time! :D Set a precedent there! Still need to figure out where to park - I think the nearby Saisbury's has free 2 hour parking...

Need to remember to post BIL's bday card as don't want to have to send a moon pig one when I have already bought cheapish ones...

REALLY need to call the mortgage peeps - keep forgetting!!

Looking into making my own oat milk but NOT buying the expensive nut milk maker until their Cyber Monday sale... Did a bit of digging on their instagram profile and saw that they have a sale each year so I'll wait for that. :D Christmas is coming!!

So... baby girl has just fallen asleep so I'll go and do my 1/2 hour kitchen clean now :D

So yesterday didn't happen in terms of my list, I slept in, then spent the rest of the day socialising! The only clear out I had was my car file as I had to find papers for the RAC complaint.

    [STRIKE]List for tomorrow:[/STRIKE] Today

bake a cake - crumble from gifted apples - Nope my hands were shot from weeding, no umpf left for peeling apples.
meadow hour - Actually did an hour and a half
    vacuum
    check website and update
email work about new work pattern - actually did yesterday
walk with nice neighbour - done
go to running club social problem here is that I will need to ride 6,5 miles each way - then go for a 5 m run - then BBQ - I might see if I can get a lift! got a lift, nice social evening
continue to tidy up and declutter landing and small bedroom
Near NSD day - need to get milk, gift and post gift - done
sign up for life in UK test - on hold
get all info for ds first uk passport - on hold

Good news, my car is being delivered back today :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

Still struggling to do what's actually on my list[ - I walked the dog this morning, test drove my new clutch which was a bit of a jumpy experience, got some flea treatment for dog - found one yesterday morning, made an appointment w hair dresser and vet for booster - then cancelled both after having a bit of a look at the budget, updated spreadsheets - am not doing well. AM already £200 over this month down to the car and just about everything else, can't wait to go back to work so I stop spending money!

And here's what I actually did, and then had to stop doing as I'm extremely exhausted:

Will now sort small pile from small bedroom into new/usual bedroom.
