Never get the legal cover. It's a big con. You're paying for something worse than the free equivalent

When are you going to need it? If someone drives into you, injures you and you're going to make a claim for compensation. Your insurers say that the legal cover means your legal fees are covered. But any decent solicitor will do the case without charging you anyway.

So you don't need the legal cover. untick that box

Good luck finding a solicitor to recover your excess for you if there are no injuries involved.
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.

Why would you need a solicitor just to recover your excess?

Because it goes through your insurer and if you haven't paid the legal fees, they won't do it for you

You don't need a solicitor to get your excess.

You just put in your claim for it to the third party.

Can anyone please help with this question?

I use my car in my employer's business.

I visit prospective clients on pre-arranged visits, making perhaps 5 or 6 such visits per week and only doing around 4000 business miles per year. (I don't do any cold calling.)

Some websites suggest that this amounts to 'business use'. Others imply this would be 'commercial travelling'.

How can I find out for definite what class of car insurance I need?

(I don't want to leave myself without proper cover!)

    Please help!

I have just received my car insurance renewal quote and the premuim has gone up by £160 i contacted the insurer to be told that although i do have my no claims bonus protected, i did report an 'incident' in the past 12months. This 'incident' was me reporting that someone had run into the back of me, and as it turned out their insurance company paid for everything, which meant that my insurance company were not involved. Why and how can they justify adding a premuim to my insurance costs because of this???

It's business class 1 unless you are selling/repping as part of your role (which would be commercial)

To save money on car insurance I just went the confused.com route and went for the cheapest option. Working for very few hours and doing charity work helped lower the price as well.
