try NFU, national farmers union
my brother went with these when he was 18 (just turned) with my dad being the main driver and it was really cheap.
It works this way as they don't have higher prices for young drivers

Hi all, I've just arranged car insurance online for my brother in law.
After entering and checking all details, including reading policy etc. Once I entered his card details and payment was accepted, on the next page a little message said "thank you for choosing excess protection this will now be added to your policy"
He rang the next day and said it had been added, the operator immediately said oh sorry, did you not want that? I'll take it off for you.
I'm thinking this is not legal, to add stuff on after payment. Want to warn others and also complain. Would appreciate your feedback.
Thank you:?0 -
Hi,
I am new in this website. I've read and seen a lot that this website is very helpful and giving right information about everything. And thank you in advance for giving me an advice about my problem.
It was MORE THAN can insurance on 2006 and finished on 2007. I have full no claims discount bonus with them. I was asking more than five times to send my certificate(no claims discount) since 2007 until now. All of the MORE THAN staff that i've talked to on the phone assure me that it will be sent to my address but until now i haven't recieved anything.
My current car insurance provider NIG and my previous car insurance TESCO has let me paid the penalty fee for not proving or having the certificate, even I got this in MORE THAN. I just can't understand why they won't send it to me they just let me hope that they will send, they even talked to me really good on the phone and assure me that it will be recieve by me not more than 3 days. I have been waiting my certificate for almost three years.
Please please can somebody help me what will I do.
Thanks.....

You don't get a "certificate".
They would have sent you a renewal notice towards the end of your insurance year. This is the proof needed show your NCD earned.0 -
Thanks Quentin. But I don't recieved a renewal notice towards the end of my insurance year maybe because I asked them about two months before my contract end that I'd like to finish with them as i found cheaper insurance than them. And since I was moved to Tesco Insurance, Tesco kept asking me about my certificate and I called More Than, but nothing happen as what i said above. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks in advance........0 -
Show some impatience with them!
3 years is a long time to wait for the letter they promised you in 3 days!0 -
Oh my god! 3 years? I remember I ordered a certificate from M&S insurance some years ago when I lost mine and it was there the next day! Although it did cost me £10...
I use sort of a broker now as I'm useless at organising and scheduling when my policies run out, they call me before the expiry date and organise me the best deal at the time - it's through lifefinancial.co.uk - bloomin life savers!0 -
Martin states in today's newsletter that Axa may be chepaest for some. Having followed his recommended method, Axa came out clearly cheapest for me (I have 8 yrs NCB) - but contrary to what he states, not all the comparison sites he recommends include Axa; and, unfortunately, there appears to be no cashback.0

In november last year i was taking my aged parents home and was pulled over.I was suprised to find i wasn't insured,,,apparently due to a direct debit failing. At the time iw as out of work and money was erratic however we are talking about a premium of only £17 a month which was affordable and as far as i knew it had been paid. The insurance company said it had written to me to inform me that the DD had failed ,however i have never recieved this,i indformed them that given how serious this is perhaps they could have emailed me(which they did when i set up policy or indeed called me which again they had done to confirm policy and attempt sell me further insurance products.I do have to admit that i hadn,t checked my bank bank statement as i'd just switched to online banking and problems accessing the my account. The Police it has to be said were very helpfull and let me ring the insurers to re insure my car on the side of the road. The guy i was talking to at call centre asked me whiy iw as upset when he quoted me a new policy but at £600 more a year(i was paying £200 fully comp) i asked why this was so as i hadn't been convicted at that point ,his reply is that it is pending. As far as i was aware when you take insurance over a monthly period that it is paid and you owe the finance company, therefore it should be a finance matter not a legal matter,In closing i am still waiting for a court date and you will be pleased to know although i re insured my car on side of road,I re insured elsewhere sthe following week and paid a full years premium!
Has anyone else had this issue ?0
