Adrian Flux is a broker, do you know which Insurer it is?
  • sorry mate, its Highway Insurance.
  • Hi all, wondered if anyone could advise...

My partner and I have a car each, we have seperate policies (Marker Study and Paragon Red) through the same broker (quoteline direct). My partners car has failed it's MOT, and she needs to use mine fo the next week or so whilst hers is repaired.
I'm currently not driving due to a fractured wrist, so my car is just sat there looking sad :(

Who's policy should we go through to have her insured to use my car? Or i there another company who would insure her - even though it is insured for me...
Wins 2012: Nike 20XI Golf Balls & Cap, VIP Cinema Tickets, 4oD Film Rentalx2, Dalepak vouchers (1st twitter win :j) Cinema Tickets x4, T-Shirt, Gardening surprise

Thanks to all comp posters

Add your partner to your policy as a named driver, it should not cost much to add her, if you live together and are common law partners some Insurers will actually give you a small credit when you add her as they find male with a partner are a better risk

plus £25 finance charge giving a total premium of £1159 (paid over 10 months at £132.13 per month)
  • Hi,

Re Ecarinsurance.co.uk Has anyone else had this problem?

I recently took all the advice and spent hours searching on line for the cheapest car insurance suitable for me. This turned out to be ecarinsurance.co.uk, saving about £50. I completed the details on line and paid for the year and submitted proof of no claims bonus on the same day. After a while I received a reminder to send my no claims bonus, which I did again by email as they requested. Yet another request for me to send proof, which I did again. On Friday I received a letter saying that my poicy would be cancelled if they did not receive my proof. I then emailed to both the email address that they requested plus to an enquiries email on the website and also faxed to be absolutely sure. I have just received an email to say that the policy has been cancelled. There is only one phone number on the site at £1 per minute! As expected when I called it this morning I was on hold for ages and goinging through the menu of numbers, I expect to bump up the number of pounds that I was paying per minute. To cut a long story short I eventually spoke to someone who said that the the policy is cancelled, even though I have proof of all the emails and fax that I sent and that I won't get much of my money back because of admin fees!

I will use a Company that I have heard of next time, even if it is more expensive. Anyone know how I can get my money back from this bunch of .......?

Hectic House you need to ask them to refund any monies due. It is important that you send them another copy of your no claims bonus as if you do not they will base their cancellation charge on the premium without any no claims bonus. In addition you will need them to provide an up to date no claims bonus from the date they cancelled your policy.

You will probably not be happy with the amount they charge you for cancellation if so post on here or read the "Cancellation" thread by searching for it

I'm trying to make use of insurance.co.uk's £13 cashback offer as listed in the main article but can't find any mention of it on their website. Has this offer now finished does anyone know?

    Duncan.
