So she has come back with 199 for a hire car. We said return us to money and we will just do via insurance

This possibility was pointed out to you way back in post #5

You are now caught up in a difficult situation! Always now the possibility of further claims turning up from this, but no chance that the third party will now pay you back the cash you gave to them!

If you don't want to pay this new demand refer the third party to your insurer

They will ensure that they tie up the claim so that

I think there’s a good chance they won’t bother claiming because they live in a area with HIGH insurance cost. If they claim surly I could request my money back as it’s fraud. Best options please.

She was given cash via bank transfer. She agreed via email it was ok. Now she wants more
You should've made sure, in writing, that your payment was in full and final settlement. Did you get any receipt for the payment at all?

Now all you can do is to ignore them and hope it goes away. I hope you've informed your insurer as you're supposed to do, whether you make a claim or not.

    Where is the fraud?

You agreed to pay for the damage, thereby admitting your liability.

They are entitled to all their costs from you or your insurer

You are the one with more to lose in terms of increased premium (and possibly having your policy cancelled) if this now goes through insurance!

If they don't claim then it's a no fault incident

If they do successfully claim it will be a fault claim but you can reimburse your insurer their outlay to get any lost NCD reinstated and it be classified as no fault
