Happy Valentines day Emma, and happy Sunday, great your parents have moved out, have a read about narcissistic mums, i don't know for sure your mum is a narcissist but you might recognise the signs and might find some solutions. Your self esteem is very important, find some ways to bolster it, really sorry you've had so much abuse for so long but with this space I hope you can heal x

It'll be great when your parents can move into their house, any idea when that'll be, it'll be good for you to have a date to aim for :)
That's wonderful about the lovely things, good luck with the sales :)

I believe if you are kind then kindness finds you.

The bit you said there Emma I very much agree with.
You will be just fine in the long run as you clearly are kind. We can choose how we want to behave but we can’t greatly influence how others choose to behave.

  • Your mum sounds narcissistic and is effectively gaslighting you.  This is not healthy so please for your own sanity ask her to move back to your sisters. There is a limit to kindness I feel as some people will take advantage so it can be a thin line between being kind to someone and it being reciprocated and being kind but having some people taking advantage of your kind nature because they know you will put up with it. I think your mum falls into the second category.

Emma - Emma - yiur mither is such a bad a negative influence on yiu.  From what yiu say, every time she opens her mouth she says things which make you feel a bigger failure whereas you've ve actually done really well getting out of a miserable marriage, finding another place to live and starting to get your life back in track again.
The sooner your mother is  out of your hair and your house, , I suspect the sooner yiu will start feeling good about yourself again.
Do you have a date when this is going to happen?   Please do whatever you can to bring  it forward before you get dragged down into a mire of despair again from whixh Yiu may find it hard to escape..
The reality is that a hiuse with two income earners will always be less financially challenged than a single earner but right now so many of these households could  be living on credit and perhaps not as financially stable as you suspect.  Try and focus on yiur own situation and if you know you have done the very best you can , then there is no need to reproach yourself.   You will love yourself a lot better when your mother is not around nd disparaging and criticising you every moment of the day .

    actually done really
  • So pleased they are moving out you have put up with so much. Things will start to get better now, give yourself time and you will start to see what we have seen from your posts, you are a lovely strong caring girl. Sending you lots of love and positive thoughts x

Maybe look and see what bed frames are on Wayfair and Ikea for delivery after the Ps have gone. Not too bad. I also normally look at auction rooms and charity warehouses for that sort of thing - but not currently with everything still closed. Lots of really good spare-room stuff ends up in these after people leave it too late to down-size ...

Thank goodness they are moving out. Surviving this lockdown is bad enough when you all get on but with the confrontations you and your mum are having it must be awful.

So glad to hear they are moving out. You need to be able to have some space of your own and have less stress. Take care of yourself. Hope you manage to get a bed on fb or gumtree.
