Tried flashing the bios? check to see if your bios is older then 3.02, if so https://www.medion.com/gb/service/_lightbox/treiber_details.php?did=11904
    https://www.manualslib.com/manual/637490/Medion-Akoya-E6221.html

    The Medion is:

    BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. 211, 25/11/2011

    SMBIOS Version: 2.6

get a screen shot of your bios page listing version no and contact them https://www.medion.com/gb/service/start/_product.php?msn=30012983&gid=1

Also the E6221 range seems to be quite large (15 different models?) and with hindsite could be the wrong driver

Now you have an idea why people recommend business laptops: there are loads of limited range of models and they are tried, tested, poked and battered etc. Companies do not tend to short change the corporates who can often buy many thousands of one model, and they have to work.

Hold off on the BIOS flash for the moment. We'll only look at that if we have a problem with the install to SSD.

Would have been better if you had installed Windows 7 using a Medion re-installation image.
We'll fix that when you get the SSD. You should also get a Blank DVD-R disc or another USB Flash drive, so that we can have both Windows 7 and Windows 10 media at hand for when it comes to the clean install.

My guess that you did not properly format the drive when installing Windows 8 and 10.

    Thankyou for your advice.

I will do nothing until i have bought the SSD.

I will let you know when i have installed the SSD.

P.S. I used free Driver Booster download to update the drivers after each install.

You won't likely need Drivers for Windows 10, nor when we temporarily install Windows 7 for the purpose of the upgrade. Either way, we definitely will not be using Driver Booster nor anything similar.
Do you have a blank DVD-R and a blank USB Flash drive of at least 8 GB at the ready? You can get started on the creation of the media right now.

The Windows 7 re-installation image will appear in your PM inbox, when you choose to accept messages.
You need a specific Medion re-installation media

    Hi, thankyou.

I will turn messages on now.

The new SDD will be delivered sometime tomorrow.

Is it better to upgrade from 7 to 10, rather installing 10 on it's own?

I bought a Windows 10 licence from ebay for a £2 a couple of months ago.

Edit: Yes i probably do need 7 first if it is for Medion.

    Thankyou.

If you have purchased a licence via eBay, then you don't need to bother to install Windows 7 firstly. The only reason you were to do that, was to enable you to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro(and not Home)
But if you have purchased a licence, then you can install Windows 10 Pro directly to the SSD and simply enter the product key.
