Win10 can have various parameters set and processes running that mean the fan runs constantly.
Google win10 fan always running and follow one of the guides.0 -
sorry, not an expert on hwcontrol...but try this one...
https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfc/releases (the first exe you come to).
Its a bit clunky but you need to select configuration "HP Compaq 615" - should do it - will show CPU temp immediately (suggest you don't enable the fan control service!).0 -
Seems an inherent problem;

Probably why it was £59 with an SSD fitted.0 -

Probably why it was £59 with an SSD fitted.
I've messed up then.
I have a Medion Akoya that is about 10 years old and is totally silent with an old Hard Drive.
I thought SDD and Windows 10 already installed was going to be good, but noise is'nt!0 -

Why didn't you put an SSD into the Medion, instead of buying another ten year old laptop?
If actually a new SSD, then you paid around £35 for the laptop.
Though I'm guessing the CPU in the Medion isn't great.
Windows 10 is often free to install.0 -

I was thinking of doing that with this: https://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/akoya-e6221-%28md-97881%29/CT12813396
I have tried installing Windows 10 on my Medion, but it wouldnt boot up.
I even tried installing Windows 8.1, but again it wouldn't boot up.
So i ended up reinstalling Windows 7 for the 3rd time, and it Does boot up.
Ofcourse Windows 7 support ends in January 2020...
I know my luck..... i will buy that SSD for it - installing Windows 10 again - and it wont boot up??0 -
