For what? Primarily you need to provide CPU Temp(degC) as provided (should be) by hwmonitor above?

sorry, not an expert on hwcontrol...but try this one...
https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfc/releases (the first exe you come to).

Its a bit clunky but you need to select configuration "HP Compaq 615" - should do it - will show CPU temp immediately (suggest you don't enable the fan control service!).

Why didn't you put an SSD into the Medion, instead of buying another ten year old laptop?
If actually a new SSD, then you paid around £35 for the laptop.
Though I'm guessing the CPU in the Medion isn't great.

Windows 10 is often free to install.

I was thinking of doing that with this: https://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/akoya-e6221-%28md-97881%29/CT12813396

I have tried installing Windows 10 on my Medion, but it wouldnt boot up.

I even tried installing Windows 8.1, but again it wouldn't boot up.

So i ended up reinstalling Windows 7 for the 3rd time, and it Does boot up.

Ofcourse Windows 7 support ends in January 2020...

I know my luck..... i will buy that SSD for it - installing Windows 10 again - and it wont boot up??
