Nottingham PCN Incorrect VRN

Options
Hi guys,

I have received a PCN for an incorrect VRN. My ticket only had the first 2 letters of my registration number. I paid for the parking time and did not go over the time limit. I was surprised to receive this PCN through the post but after reading some of the posts in here it seems I should not be.

Anyway before I found this site I appealed against the ticket to the company to no avail. I then appealed to ASI with the same result. So now I am going to wait for the LBC letter. I intend ignoring any letters referring ot the PCN from debt collectors or any other agency used to chase me.

I've started this thread as a heads up to anyone who can help me out once I receive the LBC. I've had a look through the newbies thread but of yet come across any template for a wrong VRN. If anyone can help in preparation for the LBC that would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Ian

There are a number of threads here where your issue with only a couple of digits showing on the ticket is a fairly common one with HX Parking.

Do a forum search on keywords HX digits and read other advice given.

HOW TO USE THE FORUM SEARCH FUNCTION:

Hit your 'Back' button to get back to the forum thread list. On the bar just above the threads you'll see the 'Search' function. Click on the 'Advanced Search' button and on the following page place your keyword(s) in the 'Search By Keyword(s)' and make sure the 'Show Results As' button (at the foot of the window) is changed from 'Threads' to 'Posts'.

Many judges regard these alleged breaches of contract claims as a very trifling matter and a waste of court time, so, if they took this to court they are likely to struggle, read this

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_minimis

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Check my thread out same thing to a friend and I. Hopefully you have the ticket still as this will really benfit you. I went to court and was in there literally 2 minutes and the judge threw it out.
  • Hi Woody,

I've just read your thread and it look a perfect match for me. I'm going to look forward to fighting these guys now.

As mentioned earlier I'm going to wait for a LBC when after I will send them a SAR. Only doing this as it costs nothing and will waste a bit of their time. After than I would not mind if you could help me out with my defence if that is ok by you.

    Cheers,
    Ian

  • Hi, which car park was it, in Nottingham? I also received a parking ticket for the same thing from HX, I parked in the Marco Island Car park. After much research I found the land owner and emailed them to tell them the situation. They have cancelled the fine for me. I would recommend you look for the land owner and appeal to them.

Marco Island car park is owned by RBH Properties, their email is: carparks@rbhproperties.co.uk
It took some finding and direct messaging companies on Twitter is a good way of finding out.

    Hope this helps people.
