I just got what I think is a scam email from PayPal. It starts:
Hello PayPal Customer,
You sent a payment of 18.00 GBP to Skype (billing@skype.com)
It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in your account.
..and it then goes on to say:
If you haven't authorized this charge, press cancel payment and get a full refund.
I'm almost certain this is a scam and not from PayPal, as it starts with the generic greeting dear PayPal customer. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else has received anything similar.0 -

I've just received the most dangerous paypal phishing scam I've never come across. It used my name and surname, but also the email address I use EXCLUSIVELY for paypal. It was sent from service at paypall. com (2 Ls).
Just a warning to people that seeing genuine name/surname/business name and email address doesn't mean the email is safe.0 -
I've received many of these Spoof emails, but it seems they come in seasons.Even the longest hour of the day, has only 60 minutes.0

They are easy to spot just look at senders address it's always the giveaway I found with paypal for example it will read paypol or it may say paypal.e.com
plus i think they would not contact you just via email with account issues same with ebay and banks0 -
Hello
I've just had this - is it a dodgy one?

I have received the same spoof email at least 10 times in the past 6 months, from service@paypal.co.uk . I was so astounded that a spam email could come from such a legit sounding email address, and was very nearly taken in by it. It's titled Notifications of User Agreement Update. If it wasn't for the poor English I would definitely have clicked through the link. Beware!
I have reported this to the spoof email every time but it hasn't made any difference personally. I've just had to add it to my junk email list.

I got this one today and thought it was worth posting as I did actually think that my account had been hacked until I logged into paypal and saw that the transaction wasn't there. Then I looked back at the email and read it carefully and saw that it wasn't genuine.
Sorry the formatting hasn't come up properly but it looked just like a normal paypal receipt except for the comment about it not showing up in my transactions, and there is a grey button at the bottom saying 'cancel transaction'.0 -
hi just had the same so they still at it you got to have your witts about when opening emails0
