Thanks
I didnt know the return email could be faked, you learn something new every day.
Are you sure if thats the case why do they bother using similar email addreses if they can just fake it.
A non techie like me can fake an address (and I'm really non techie) but a techie person can easily tell when it has been done.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks guys
I googled it apparently its easy to fake a return address.
You change some code in the return-path of the email.
I didnt realise it was possible, you get so many pishing emails from obviously fake email addresses, I presume the guys who do this are not experts as they could easily put a convincing return address.
Why use RoyalBankofUganda@hotmail.com when they could use Admin@RoyalBankofUganda.com0 -

goodgirl80 wrote: »Hi - I wonder if anyone has had their paypal account 'limited'. When I logged in they asked for my full card number, then I had to change my password. Then they wanted to ring me at my home address.
Is it because I tried to purchase from a different computer?
Thanks
I have just had this e mail today. When I logged into paypal they want me to give my cc number and account numbers again, I have not done so, as Im not sure its genuine.0 -
The 'view your unpaid item message' scam mail is doing the rounds at the moment, I've had it on 3 email accounts in the last hour.
basically it states "
eBay New Unpaid Item Message from twizzle.1756 : #130606944889-- response required"
It is an obvious phish but thought it worth placing here .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi all.. im selling my car on ebay atm and recieving emails asking if the car is still forsale and how much i would accept... i reply and say that "yes the car is still avalible" then i get a reply back saying...
Thanks for the mail, i am buying this for my son as his birthday gift because i would not be around to celebrate with him i am a petroleum engineer currently on a rig offshore in UK and due to the nature of my work, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. In case if you will want to call me to talk to me on phone you can easily call me on this number +447024041070. I really want this item to be a surprise gift for my son so i wont let him know anything about the item until it gets delivered to him , i am sure he will be more than happy with the item.I insisted on paypal because i don't have access to my bank account online as i don't have internet banking, but i can pay from my PayPal account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it, i will need you to give me your PayPal email address so i can make the payment as soon as possible for the item and pls if you don't have PayPal account yet,it is very easy to set up, go on ww.paypal.com and get it set up ,after you have set it up i will only need the e-mail address you use for registration with PayPal so as to put the money through.I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up immediately you have receive the payment in full.what is your final price including the paypal charges?.
basicly if it sounds to good to be true.. then it is, makes me mad  so im making you guys aware0 -
I have had quite a few spoof emails over the years, but this one had me wondering as it had my full name and also asked me not to reply to it but to go to the help pages on the Paypal site. I was still suspicious as it asked me to click on the link, so I phoned Paypal.
I checked with Paypal and everything was fine with my account, no-one had tried to access it. They said it was a fraudulant email as, although it had my full name in it, they would NEVER put links in their emails. They asked me to forward it to the spoof dept at Paypal
Please keep a look out, as these scammers emails are becoming more realistic.
