I get a whopping £3.34 per week for my two, and he is working, he is often boasting to the kids how much he earns. CSA are looking in to this but I will not hold my breath.

He was seeing the kids every other weekend until recently he has been working more so hasn't had them. He doesn't help in any other way like buying them clothes
  • I sound like I am getting a good amount compared to some on this thread.
I get 200 a month for my son have done since he was two he is now eight. It is there every month without fail and we did not use CSA.
I also have no idea how much the Dad earns but feel that this is a fair amount and all that I need and would never ask for anymore.

I have a good relationship with his Dad and he often spends weekends with him and he takes him swimming every week and paid for his swimming lessons. He also takes him on hols once a year and still does not reduce the amount or ask me to contribute.

Seems that some men are quick to make the "baby" but no so quick with the payments after!

This thread is really interesting! cheers guys!
Like I said, I get £20 a week off my little ones dad, but that genuinely is it. I then pay for school uniform, shoes, football coaching, swimming lessons, well, everything!!
You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

I suggest you look at what your child costs you in clothing, food, outings, school trips etc. You can include an amount for housing as well. Then halve it and ask for that. I think that's a very fair way of looking at it rather than looking at what he earns and taking as much as you think you can get away with.
    .

Doing it this way you would then have to subtract what the government pays for your child, from the original amount and then half the left over amount ., that would then be a fair way , that the both of you's are paying equal amount for the child.

    only my opinion

If you refer to tax credits and child benefit, then I think that is fair comment.

Up until 2 months ago-I got £17 a week for 2 teenagers under CSA old rules-it worked out £1 a day per child. They are at home with me all week-they don't want to see their Dad more than the occasional visit lasting an hour or so (over other issues that he has caused for them which are nothing to do with me)
    I pay for food,school uniform,shoes,clothing,bus fare,dinner money,social life,school trips,equipment,toiletries-in short...every single thing they need.
In the end and after a long battle with him via the CSA I gave up-it's not worth having.
He is working-good job, good lifestyle-but his is a lair/fraud and the CSA don't have the powers needed to investigate why it doesn't add up.Been to Tribunal..everything-nothing will force him to pay his way financially, which is morally wrong. He didn't even buy them B/day xmas pressies last year!
Some A/P's seem to think they are paying you the money for YOU..not the upkeep of their kids.
There should be a better system in place.I know I am not alone in this situation-we just slip through the net!

Acehole - thats crazy, it sounds like you have them 50% of time. I have my son half the time and we just split all the expenses down the middle rather than any fixed amount.

And no I dont earn lots of money I come out with 1500 a month and have my own mortgage now to pay.
    I'd say so:rolleyes:
Up until recently I was getting £80pm, because my son (15) spends weekends with his Dad.I only got 2/5ths of money due. If I were you I'd look into it.
Did you do it through CSA?
