I told dd2 (15) that she could have money for christmas which made her happy untill i said it would be around £50 then she stopped smiling and said she was expecting at least £200 i just:rotfl:at her lol.
   . When I was living at home, I got £50 (plus a few extra bits and pieces like socks) off my parents for Christmas. It has gone up to £100 now I am living out of home (am 20) but then they don't have to feed/shelter me for the rest of the year. The really scary bit is that your DD said 'at least' £200.We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
anniestar ((((hugs)))) hope your headache lifts very soon.
shez :hello: Mr Darcy is looking very fine with his hat. Shame you couldn't get the one where he has just come out of the lake and his shirt is clinging to him. A wee bit of tinsel would dress that up nicely.
astonsmummy :hello: and welcome.
redruby I went to Sainsbugs yesterday cos I remembered your £2 turkey crown. In my local store they have a sign saying the cost of poultry has *increased* because of poor weather that has impacted feed, etc. So no bargains for me at all.
mean marie hope you get everything done in time - sounds like a long list.
my headache has lifted slightly so feeling a bit better. Thanks for all the kind thoughts.
Worked some overtime which will go into the roofer fund and I will be doing some tomorrow too. Every little helps, as they say.
Dinner is yellow-label steak pie with mash, broccoli and peas. Need to make a tomato sauce for tomorrow's meatballs too."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hi All
Thanks for all the birthday wishes & the good wishes re Thumper & Ogden.
I've found out more about what the lodgers up to & with whom. I'm now even more convinced that she doesn't realise what she's getting herself into & so will explain it to her in great detail, but I'll leave it till tomorrow night as I want to relax on my birthday & not end up in an arguement with her.
I was given M & S vouchers today from work & some from hubby's mum. I have some presents to open later but will do that after I've cooked, I'm doing Huge F-W fish pie, which is really yummy. I better got on with it, or it won't be cooked in time
Hugs Hester

Hi Astonsmummy :hello: I feel all special
How you doing hun?
Nice to see you here - I'm relatively new myself but everyone is lovely, so I keep popping back.
Is your little chap still not well? Poor thing - lots of hugs and cuddles are in order while Shrek watching then, I take it.
How's the beef - did it turn out ok? I know if I was your neighbour, I would have popped round for some curry - even without the invite.I love west indian curry, and I can make a pretty good curried goat, even if I do say so myself.
Regarding the mouse:
Thanks for the advice guys. Dad has put chocolate on the traps for me and they also bought some poison over so either way I will get the  in the end.

Evening All
Many Happy Returns Hester - have a lovely evening
Congrats Hilstep
Welcome Astonsmummy.
Hugs to all those feeling unwell - especially Pink & family.
Feeling much better today which is why I wasnt on earlier - was busy doing housework. House is all clean and tidy and ironing done. Have done no paperwork today but theres always tomorrow.
OH has a kidney & water infection again, DD has a water infection - she has them regularly but we are seeing a hospital in London for her on monday so hopefully can start getting things sorted. All Oh can do is take more pills and await emergency ultrasound scan which can take up to three weeks. Getting a bit worried about our Orlando holiday in Jan as doc is now talking about keyhole surgery and cant see them getting that done by January!
Anyway rant over, had strange tea of sausages, salad, yellow sticked jacket potatoes with sour cream (not nice) and sweetcorn. We are slowly getting the freezer down.
Footie tonight so best go and finish my surfing - have a great evening.
