    Evening all
Shez thanks for trying to bail out Mr Sharing Caring but he didn't turn up till 1:45 - I had given up by then and took her to dd's and he picked her up from there - she is richer by 20 quid from him but I had forgotten to ask for comission from her. Well I have told him that he can be a Mcdonalds/Weekend Dad if he wants but that that means that he may not criticise her care for the rest of the week, popping in is out without prior notice and that he is to give my spare keys back. I got pretty upset at work becaue middle dd phoned to say that he had said he would defo be there by 11am and that little d had been sitting in her coat since then waiting for him. He called just now - not with an apology of course - but to say that she doesnt seem sick enough to be off school. Her tonsils are swollen almost shut, the dr recomended a week off, school agree that she ought not to be there and when she is low she is prone to ear infections which are permanently scarring her ear drums - but he knows best! He is however keeping her until saturday and will bring her to dgs's bday party. I was 2 and a half hours late for work and need to make the time up somehow.

Tea will be some yummy yellow stickered free range drumsticks and I plan to do beggar all tonight that's not footie or knitting related
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Evening all.

I don't normally wander this way in an evening, but the talk of Christmas Avatars pulled me in... Billie Joe will make a comeback in the new year I think.

Yesterdays sore throat got steadily worse today, and I'm now croaking like anything. The pub quiz should be fun - my team won't be able to hear me!!

Have a good evening all, and hugs.

the Beef boringion was delish! even DS liked it :jWe had it with new potatoes, there is loads left so that will be going in the feezer for another time.

Success then.:T Mom made us a chicken casserole before she came over, and we just had to heat it up, which has been a help, as I haven't been able to do much today
Pipkin, sorry i havent replied to the PM yet, i keep forgetting, i'm rubbish :o.

I forgive you, especially as you have a poorly little one:p

The curry was nice but i ended up practically having my bum stuck to the toilet seat all day yesterday, dunno what i done wrong :o.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That's the best type of curry, imo! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Pipkin, i have no advice about mice as i've never had any, but i do remeer when i was growing up we had rats in our basement and they died, the smell was awful but dad took ages to sort it out  surprised we didnt get diseases or sommat!

Horrible things  , but I will win in the end.
My SIL was having the same problem with catching a mouse. Traps were empty but no mouse. How she caught hers was she melted a bit of mars bar (only slightly) and then she put a tiny piece of bread crust with peanut butter onto the melted dip (if u see what I mean) and so when it cooled it sealed the crust to the chocolate.

Dad's done that for me today cheerfulness4, but with rolos instead of mars and chocolate spread on the bread. I will hopefully be celebrating tomorrow - but then I have to get the mouse off the trap vomit-smiley-007.gif
edited to add, yes ALL mouses like chocolate:D But some of us prefer it from a box not a trap:rotfl:

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Needle nurse has been and not feeling too good. Not doing much today as I dont have the energy and in alot of pain.

Hope you're feeling a bit better this evening PP xxx

    Evening everyone
Boy what a day - but first of all before I forget again!!!

Good Luck for tomorrow Pam help it eases things.
((hugs)) pinkin & Pen-Pin & the 2 Annies- hope you stop aching as much/feeling carp soon.
Welcome Astonsmummy - Shez I can see you
((hugs)) also to PW, GR and anyone else who'd like one.

Started the day at Makro, which was fine, cheapo breakfast 5 items + toast for £1.99 + coffee (nearly as much). Walked around there for 2 hours, then came back to Donny to meet builder at Kitchen/Floor etc. Warehouse. Walked around there for another hour doing what ifs:confused: .Returned home with samples to continue the discussion. Entrance Cloak cupboard (which we emptied last night) taken down, laminate floor in kitchen taken up for thorough examination of kitchen floor to see how much needs replacing - part of one side and one of the base units = worktops need to be replaced. = All but one base units and 2 of the top units needed emptying:eek:   You would not beleive how much [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] kitchen items you can get in, we have put them in the conservatory - 1.5 hours walking backwards and forwards between kitchen and conservatory one end to the other of the bungalow, its almost full, what's more its 21' x 8'. To quote DH, "we will not run out of cleaning clothes or shoe polish if we live to be 200". A slight exagoration, but not far off. We also need to turn alchy when we emptied the bottle cupboard. I think a serious sort out and listing is needed before things go back.:o
Further decisions, if we are going this far do we have new doors and go for a total revamp. I think the answer is yes, I will decide this evening, the price is reasonable, and I really fancy a modern look trendy kitchen rather than cathedral shaped moulded white grained doors we have now. My choice is high gloss black! http://www.howdens.com/kitchens/ranges/contemporary-collection/high-gloss-black/
not quite as black as this, as I will be using the exisiting white carcasses. Just deciding if I go total black or a token high gloss white door to break it up. DH is up for it, and he wants a fancy extractor too http://www.howdens.com/appliances/extractors/island/

    Hi Everyone

Had a busy but productive day. Arrived at work to read a really lovely congratulatory e-mail from the tutor of yesterday's course. Forwarded on to all who had helped the day go so well, and had lovely phone calls and e-mails from folk across the Council (including Head of Education) saying really nice things. My head is rather swollen at the moment.

Well it has rained for Britain here today - it has just been awful South-east Scotland.

I have tried to keep up with you all today and I do know some folk are still poorly, have poorly children, about to go into hospital, having injections, have poorly partners, have lodger problems, funny shifts etc etc. My thoughts are with you all.

Welcome AstonM - I have read a lot about your life on another thread. I just can't get my head round the avatar thing. If anyone wants to do the idiot's guide - yes please! Also hi to Pipkin.

Have been wrapping Christmas presents tonight as we are doing a family visit this weekend. We only do the token thing (chocs wine for brothers/sisters and chocs for nephews/nieces). How on earth do we wrap tins of Roses, Heros etc! I got lovely Thorntons chocs a couple of weeks ago on line (60 chocs for £5.99), tins of sweets from Somerfield and DH has bought the wine from Tesco at vastly discounted prices for very good wine. I feel more in control of Christmas this year. DD and family come to us and can't wait!

Love and hugs to all - just off to wrap 3 tins of Heros and that is me done!

    Love GB xxxxxx

I have a very good OS friend doing some personal Christmas cards for me so I am just about sorted! (You know who you are! DLB just a step way from you I think!!!!!!).

Donny, did you know you can haggle with howdens, I got my kitchen, complete with all cupboards, solid beech worktop, DW, WM, cooker, hob and built in fridge freezer, with an extra larder unit, should have been £7500, got it for £3500  , took me a whole day, played them off against MFI on the phone between the two, and they just kept offering me better deals, well worth a few phone calls xx

 Discount  Probably no time to take advantage.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Already started that process, but these are the Builders discount prices, and he uses them all the time, and passing it on, but will double check.

    Oh Donny

We are starting the planning of our kitchen for February/March next year. Our kitchen guy is self-employed and does huge work for MFI - the kitchen units MFI are more or less Howdens! I am finding it a bit daunting planning this all out and making sure flooring, appliances just right. Replacing the original kitchen in our house which is circa 1973 and everything a bit daunting in case we don't get it right. Too big an outlay to redo at our time in life!

HardupH - sorry meant to say Happy Birthday to you in my last post.

Aston'smum - you are a star and cope so well! I see you on the Moneysavers regularly!

    LoveGB xxxxxxx
