    Morning everyone :hello:

Thanks to all those willing my voice back! It's just about back, I think. However, I'm still trying to give it rest. My doctor's note means that I should return to school on Friday. I did try the whispering thing last week, but the children were just climbing up the wall even more. They were having none of it! As the doctor said on Monday, infants need talking to all the time and having a raised voice, so it's best if I just don't use it at all!!! I did get a call from the school this morning asking me to e-mail a timetable, which I wasn't best pleased with, but I suppose I need to put on a "co-operative" front.

    :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake:
    Happy Birthday Hester!

The highlight of my day has been and gone. My Tesco order turned up! It's all been put away and the cupboards and fridge looks full once more. Suppose I'd better check the meal plan and update it! They delivered just in plastic crates, but because I don't really anticipate using the Tesco.com service again, then I don't really know what to do with them. They're currently cluttering up the kitchen!

Supper tonight is a chicken & loads of veggies stir fry. Mmmmmm.

    Hilstep - many congratulations.

(((hugs))) to all those that need them and :j :j to others. :D

    Morning all,

Snowy, sorry your week off went so quickly. I hope it doesn’t take too long to settle back to work.
Patentgirl, good luck to dd with gcse. I'm beginning to panic about Christmas too!
Hilstep, congratulations! I hope dil keeps well.
mrs mix, good luck for tomorrow.
Anniebooklover, I hope your headache clears soon.
Pipkin, sorry to hear you’re feeling rough…I hope you catch the little blighter soon.
    Astonsmummy, Welcome. :hello:
Vicki, it’s good to hear your voice is improving.
Haribo, stop fussing and just enjoy dad and stepmums visit.
Aussie, so glad to hear you finally got the casting on done. Thanks for sending the photograph to let me know how the dishcloth is going.
Hester, Happy Birthday! I hope you have a lovely day! :bdaycake:

I haven’t been posting for a few days because I’ve had a rotten cold and been a bit miserable and didn’t want to come on and moan but I’m feeling a lot brighter today. :j

Adam had his blood tests at the hospital on Monday…not much news, his kidneys are still bleeding and he still needs to rest. School are sending him work home so hopefully he won’t get behind. Tim has finally been diagnosed with ‘dull’ hearing and been referred to a specialist so hopefully that will be sorted soon.

Sorry for going on about all of this recently…normally we are a healthy lot, and never have any problems. I feel as though I’ve spent the last couple of months doing nothing but moan on the daily, but your lovely, supportive posts have really helped. Thankyou. Xx

Plans for today are to clean out the fireplace and dust the living room…a real fire is great, but it does make such a mess. Gammon is already in the slow cooker for tea…I think I’ll make a cheese sauce with it and I have some homemade Yorkshire puddings in the freezer that will go with it too. At some stage this afternoon if the rain ever stops, I’ll go for a wander around town to [strike]get me out of the house[/strike] look for some Christmas ideas.

I hope you’re all having a good day.

  • Morning all! (just!) :hello: it'll be afternoon by the time i've finished typing!

(((hugs))) to anyone who needs them today

Hester - Happy birthday to you hun ,hope you have a lovely day. Sorry to hear about the loss of your pets :(
Aussielass - Oooh the tomato relish sounds scrummy, i'm all for relish, chutneys, pickles etc at the moment - driving OH mad lol
Hilstep - Congrats to you and yours! Another new bubba :)

Been to the midwife today for my first app and she thinks i'm further on than i thought, dates are a bit hazy since coming off the pill but shes given me a new due date of 13/06/08 instead of what i thought 09/07/08 so am now just over 10 weeks (i thought 7 wks today). Im going for a scan in a few weeks to confirm though. If the date the MW has given me is right then that means we'd have hit jackpot with our 1st month ttc which i cant believe lol.

We've told my mam, dad and sis and OH's, mam, dad, bro and sil but we're not telling anyone else until after the scan. DD doesn't know yet cos i want to make sure everything is ok so it'll be a nice xmas pressie for her (fingers crossed!). My family are ecstatic (though my mam knew before) and bil and sil are chuffed. Not sure about mil's reaction, OH says shes pleased but in shock but i dont think shes happy about us not being married lol. Tough luck, we aint getting married until we can do it without getting into debt so she'll have to live with it.

God i go on dont i?! :o Just had to babble all that at you lol

    B - cereal, juice, tea
    D - Toasties
T - Sausage, mash and beans

    Have a good day all

    Hello all,

Am having a much better day today (thanks for the good wishes Haribo, must have worked). OH and I sat down and *talked* about our finances this morning - he has been trying to shoulder the burden of responsibility all by himself - I have told him not to do this as it really stresses him out and makes everything worse!!! Silly man
Anyway, we worked out that we can pay the rent and the council tax this month :D We both feel much better for it, so I am very pleased - for the first time in about a month, the tension in my shoulders has eased off.

I have been roped into cleaning an industrial deep fat fryer today - great! Other than that plans are: looking for a job, maybe make some flapjacks, general pottering.

I got a phone call from an agency this morning about a job I applied for - they said I would be no good because I hadn't worked in such a dusty environment before (the job was loading dirt into sacks). What???? At least let me try it!

Anyway - have a good one all

Oh yeah - Happy birthday Hester. Hope you have a great day.
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment
  • Afternoon everyone :j

At w**k at the moment - the boss is off today :D

Haven't posted for a while as haven't had much to say.

Happy Birthday Hester - so sorry to hear about Thumper and Ogden - thought you hadn't mentioned them for a while

Aussie - do you think you could post the recipe for the tomato relish - sounds scrummy

Pink - you seem to be really going through it at the mo - remember to have a little "me" time if you're able

DD has football straight after school, so when I finish work I need to make tea (Ranchero Pie) then pick her up - get her bathed and fed and round to brownies (Phew!!). I'm hoping to finish off my knitted Santa this week - it's taken me aged but I'm really proud of him :o Then I need to get started on a scarf for one of the girls at work's Secret Santa present - I thought a nice hand knitted scarf and some White Company hand cream would suffice (we're supposed to spend £15 - £25)

House is a wreck - really need to clean the bathroom and catch up on some ironing.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

I could never leave OS. I'll be back to DT at some point I hope. I pop in and lurk occasionally!

Pink, I'm so sorry to hear that Adam still isn't back to his usual self. I hope you're making time to look after yourself.x

Afternoon all. Just got back from shopping and the gym and had a bowl of Bovril and some HM rolls and 2 slices of HM cake - could do with a nap now!

TAPLADY - hope the pills work. IBS is horrible.

PINK - ((((((hugs))))))) to Adam, Tim and you.

PAM - wishing you all the best for tomorrow.

ASTONSMUMMY - Welcome - this is a great thread, I'm sure you'll enjoy being part of it! Hope LO is better soon.

Well, the stew is cooking away nicely in the SC. I need to pick DS2 up from the garage, where his car is being serviced, at 4.45 - right on rush hour. Then I know I'll just have to stop and have a cuppa with him and his GF and make a fuss of their kitten, so I'm really glad that dinner is already cooking.

I suppose I'd better unpack the shopping; I managed to get a couple of books from the charity shop that will make good presents, and a couple of bags of Christmas decorations - some old-fashioned lanterns and things, which will look lovely on the tree. I have loads of decorations despite giving DS2 and his GF a load when they moved into their new house last year.

Anyway, off to pack shopping away, have a cuppa and a quick doze. See you all later.
