Diary for Wed 21st Nov 2007

Morning everyone

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
!!!Happy Birthday Hester!!!
:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:

Hester, I hope you have a good day, and don't let that silly lodger of yours upset you. She makes me laugh that she thought being an escort was just a bit of :kisses3: and no other expectations. Maybe you really need to chuck her out so as to limit your involvement should the police get called in a situation she loses control of. She definitely needs a hefty shock to comprehend the seriousness of the situation she is creating. Oops sorry, that's a bit heavy...Hester, have a piece of cake!

Now then, I can't remember a single thing thing that was mentioned on yesterday's daily. Just VickyA, and her missing voice - hope it gets a bit stronger today Vicky. Whispers: You may not be amused to hear this, but when I was at school I just loved it when a teacher lost his/her voice...thought it was fantastic that they couldn't shout hehe.

Has anybody seen Shez around? And Pink-Winged too, haven't seen a post from her for a wee while. Helloo ladies if you're reading this. Hello to other missing in action Old Stylers...sorry, not got my memory installed right now, so forgive me for not mentioning more names.

Today my plans are wo*k, home, a wee bit of houseywo*k, bed. Oh and eat at all given opportunity...:rotfl:

Have a great day.

Snowy

    Morning all!
Snowy owl, I thought I was early! You beat me to it:rotfl:
    :bdaycake: Hester!
You know, the more I hear about your lodger, the more she seems completely barmy!:rotfl: I was reading an article in the Mail (I think) that told how we need to rid ourselves of leeches. This includes people who are draining us, bout time you got rid of that leech!
Anyway, up again at 4.30, it was 3.30 yesterday, not fun when work beckons. Still, only half-day today, then off till Monday.
DD was 21 on Sunday, can't believe she's that old, or me:T

Oh yes, if all goes well, I'm gonna be a GRANDMA next July! Now that does make me feel old:eek: OH's songot married in July this year, and baby is expected next July. She had an ectopic pregnancy two weeks before the wedding, so we are hoping it will go okay this time. She's had a scan, everything is in the right place this time. OH is like a dog with two tails, he's sooooo excited!:T

Nearly finished my pressies (baskets for most) and done all the cards and the "round robin" aren't I a good girl?:j

    Have a great day all!

Happy Birthday Hester! Hope you have a great day!
Good Morning Snowy and hilstep2000 - and everyone yet to wake up and post!
Only seem to get on here if I wake early, so there's the silver lining in the cloud of "can't sleep again". My own fault today - dogs woke up at 3.30 and instead of just quickly letting them into the garden I decided to empty the dishwasher...thus waking myself up completely.
Hope Vicky's voice returns soon - as a teacher I always find that the children start whispering back - makes for a very quiet classroom!
Am now panicking because I still haven't finished sewing DGD's Advent calendar, and it'll need posting. Hmm, late meeting tis evening, so no chance now until tomorrow. Am I the only one who always leaves things to the last minute?
Anyway, hope you all have a great day - and ((hugs)) to anyone who needs one.

    Dear Diary :D

This morning I made some tomato relish. I put some on my sandwich for lunch and I must say I've really excelled myself again. :p

The weather has been very warm today with a few little showers. DGS refused his afternoon sleep and now is one little cranky pants. Ninny is hiding upstairs. :D

Snowy Glad to hear your diet is going well. ;)
hilstep Congratulations on being a granny. It's soooo wonderful.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HESTER do you really need your lodger. Round where I live a lot of the locals take in foreign language students. That way you only have them for a couple of weeks and then they're gone.

Still snotty but now have sudofed, DS back to school today. Off to work in a minute,. Cats are going mad here beating each other up. It's all the fault of psycho cat, he just can't resist jumping on big cat after breakfast.

No idea what's for tea. Will look in the freezer on return. Have a good day everyone :A x

Morning. Birthday greetings to Hester and all others who are celebrating.

I have to get the MOT done on the car today, I am not anticipating too many problems, but there is always the fear of an expensive or difficult fix needed.

I start a week of 5pm - 2 am shifts this afternoon. I am not looking forward to it, but it's my turn. I can rove all over Cornwall if I wish, as I am duty cover. Staying awake is the only problem. As the week goes on, I will get less and less sleep and it will catch up with me...

Anyway, better get the packed lunch done and kids off to school... Cheerss

Happy Birthday Hester:bdaycake: I am sure your goodies will go down well at school today. Make sure DH spoils you. Tell the Lodger she is washing up as it is your birthday!

Woke up early as someone has not changed the start time for the CH from 5.20am for our previous 5.45am alarm call - but we aren't working now:eek:  I must nag today:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (or do it myself!). Comes on get warm - wake up,

Vicky - to get your voice back, you must give ourself a complete no talking day, whispering hurts the throat even more than talking. Give it a chance and it will recover. So today, only talking in your head, and forget the phone. (Been there many times and it is the only solution I find).

Plans for the day - quick trip to Sheffield to get a Steam Generator Iron on offer at Makro. Meet Builder at Builders Merchants to decide on what we want. P.M. work starts - entrance hall first, then kitchen and hall(s). Hopefully side bedroom will start next week so we will have time to empty it during weekend. Going to Freecycle some of the things coming out, as taking opportunity to replace with free fitting. I think they are going to have a good session, what with curtains, 4' cupboard front (mahogany contiplas too dark), some carpets, replacing with laminate. Units from side bedroom - turning from office/storage back to bedroom for DS (I've nicked his). Also considering for the future how to fit walk in wardrobe and ensuite into our bedroom, so that could be there later too.  . No heart to clean as there will be dust everywhere.

Congrats Hilstep hopefully my turn won't come for a year or so.

Must get down to some paperwork sorting later - the mountain is reforming.

Thanks for all the good wishes, 56 today, but I still feel 55 inside, lol.
Last night I made a banana loaf, 2 doz fairy cakes, 2 dozen choc chip cookies, 2 doz weetabix brownies & a tray of flapjack. Everyone else takes in cream cakes, but I'm too stingy.
Some sad news I'm afraid, Thumper & Ogden both died over the past couple of weeks, as they were both quite elderly it's not much of a surprise.
I better get off to work, hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester
