Right Ruby - I'll swing into action in the morning. The builder will not be surprised, he's seen me in action before.

GB - Hi not spoken for a while. I was aware of the Howdens/MFI link, MFI originated in Howden, not far from us. 1973 - the year we got married -aaah! I know what you mean, I actually love planning rooms, I am always re-arranging things, re-designing. We have extended the bungalow three times, and I have designed all. Currently also designing a possible change to our bedroom to fit an ensuite and walki-n wardrobe in. When we have the kitchen done originally, the kitchen fitter said, you cannot get in what you want. I let him do his plan, and then re-arranged it to get in what I wanted where I wanted. He took one look and said, "Wanna job?"

    Hi to you too DG

Let's compare kitchens!!!!!!! Show me yours and I shall show you mine!!! And then we can both post fabulous piccies on the kitchen thread! I saw Strawberry glass type back splash and worktops in John Lewis on Saturday! How soon would we get fed up with that? First Sunday morning hangover and I think it would make me feel more ill than I already was!

Donny - High gloss black kitchen units will need constant polishing :)

Blairweech - I know that is the theory, but we had high gloss bright orange units when we first got the place (our choice) and I loved them, but they eventually got past their sell by date. They did need polishing but not that often and they came up great. We now have the white grained wood, which after not nearly as long have gone off-white and are don't come up half as good, dust gets into the grain somehow, and they just don't look clean. BTW this is DH's job

    Happy Birthday Hester :bdaycake: :bdaycake:

Good luck with the lodger tomorrow.
I typed a comment about her last night and a compliment to you for your patience and "grace under pressure".

Went to Newcastle and had lunch with two DDs and DH and then got home and had Indian takeaway which we have not done for months, but thoroughly enjoyed.
Need to start wrapping presents but there always seems to be someone around at the time!

Hugs to everyone and hope Pinks son gets better soon.

  • If I knew how to upload pictures I would do it DG.

You will see I have not signed out. DD phoned more than half an hour ago and we had a huge chat about Christmas (and DGS2 who is totally off the wall since hospital last week. He is totally thinking he should be the main man and she is totally thinking NO!).

Hilstep - sorry should have mentioned you.

Astonsmum - tried to post on your Shrek thread, timed out with DD's phone call and now being told maintenance in operation. Main gist of my response was that my DD was addicted to Calamity Jane and could quote almost word for word, DS was Star Wars, DH still The Great Race and grandsons alternating between Cars, Nemo and Winnie the Pooh (although DGS1 getting involved in Scooby Do!)

Love to you all and now definitely signing out!
