  • Hello my beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well.
Today was a no spend day
Tomorrow I'm going to prep for lunches this week. Do laundry etc.

Lounge is tidy. Washing up is done.

I've decided we are going to do a complete no spend for the year from the 1st of October. And I hope to vlog it on my YouTube channel  It's basically continuing what we are already doing ATM. Essentials only. We will do regular food shops but only buy what we need not what we want (no extras basically) I'm doing this to boost the amount we can save as much as possible. I'm also going to declutter the house again and sell what we don't need. Although we have 2.5 times more space than the flat we actually have less Furniture than we did then.

I'm also going to dry all our clothes on the airer and try not to use the tumble dryer. I really do think the tumble dryer contributes to clothes not lasting as long.
Myself. My partner and the eldest have showers instead of baths and I bath the two little ones together still so that saves water.

I still really want to get a water butt and composter.

I know people who use dish water on their plants. Does anyone know if it's still ok even if you use washing up liquid in the water ?

We don't have contract phones. Myself partner and eldest have Giffgaff. It costs us £26 a month for the 3 of us. But we don't always top up every month as we get free Giffgaff calls and texts to each other for around 3 months after each top up. Because I'm trying to limit my phone usage and I use wi-fi to video call family I don't really need to top up every month. So I think I will start just topping up every 3 months ..

I use my local library for ebooks and Kindle prime books. So I don't pay for ebooks and I don't buy paper books anymore.

I don't buy magazines I stopped buying them during our first no spend back in 2017.

I don't buy drinks out we take our water bottles or Thermos with us. Same for snacks

We rarely buy takeout. (Maybe once every couple of months) But this will stop completely during no spend..

I do drink alot of tea. I'm going to try and cut down and drink more water.

I'm still trying to loose weight. I loose a few pounds and then end up putting it back on plus extra which is really frustrating.

Anyway off to bath the little ones have a good evening everyone

  • Hi hi I don’t use dish water for my plants but what I do do is this. When on lock down and the weather was so hot the waiter butt was empty. I have and still do found that when I was wanting hot water from the kitchen tap so much water is lost before the hot comes through. So I catch it all in empty 4 litre milk cartons. I can nearly fill one each time. I often end up emptying them into the watering can. Check to see how much water you could be losing. We’re on a metre so we’re paying for that.
I really enjoy your diary your so focused. x

  • Morning my beautiful diary friends

Aww thankyou so much for your comments it really has brought a huge smile to my face :)

Mrs money penny .. I will do this! I bet I'll be shocked at how much is cold before the hot comes through.
Im also going to stop filling the washing up bowl to full to wash up, even with lots of dishes I don't need that much water

Also did you know the pitch sound that water makes as it comes out the tap goes higher with hot water I always know when my hot water has starred to come through without looking or touching 🤣 which is great because I normally wash down the sides while I wait for the hot water to come through for the washing up 🤣

We need to pop to Tesco today to get stuff for the kids lunch boxes. And we might go on a short walk (I'll be going in my chair if we do) I'm relying more and more on my chair. Generally whenever we go out now for a walk I'm in my chair as I'm in Alot of pain recently. I'd love to get an electric chair to give me more independence as I can no longer push myself in my manual chair... Probably because I've got fatter 🤣

One thing I am doing today is sorting the house good and proper. I'm on afternoon shifts all this week so I can do abut each day. I normally get all the family involved after all this isn't just my home it's theirs too. So it's always a team effort ☺️

Main job is putting laundry away , tidy the  dining room and set the airers up to dry the today's load of laundry. And get everything ready for school tomorrow..

Does anyone elses supermarkets not reduce the yellow sticker stuff by much.  I see people on FB get stuff for 10p ours never reduces as low as that.

Right off I go. ! Have a lovely day everyone

  • Hi everyone went to Mr T . Spent £65

I also have a food shop coming on Wednesday which has come to £131
    £22 of that is tobacco
And about £20 on laundry and cleaning products.
    £10 on nappies
£6.50 on a big box of baby wipes.

So food wise came to about £60 I'm happy with that. Partner is lactose intolerant and so is Ds2 so that bumps up the price a little.

But one reason why I am happy is we have a lot of fruits and veggies in the shopping.

Right I'm off to sort out this huge laundry pile.

And I really want to get a few yout-be videos done today . I'm hoping to do 3 videos a week from now on now the kids are back at school

  • Good morning my beautiful diary friends
I hope you are all well.

I'm not feeling great got a killer headache and just generally feeling very tired.

Anyway we had our last lot of income for the month today. So I did our money shuffle early.
I left the money for next month's outgoings in a seperate account so that's all ready for the first of October.
I transferred £933 to the savings account.
Currently I have our emergency fund and car fund in one account.
I'll do an update at the end of the month with our balances.

    Hello my beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well.
    Thankyou Chrystal.

Ok so I'll start from the beginning.  I'm not sure if I mentioned about my left foot / leg causing me alot of grief. Horrendous pain and unable to weight bare. I've been limping around and this has caused a knock on effect of my hip and thigh hurting. The foot pain started in June/July. I can no longer hold my foot up. It just drops. And my mobility has obviously been impacted. I had an x-ray last week which I was really hoping would show something. Well it hasn't. And the GPS have come to the conclusion that it's my cerebral palsy deteriorating. The plan is that I will have to wear a night splint again. And I may have to wear day splints too but we will have to just wait and see. I've also been urgently referred for physio to try to strengthen my foot. Partner has gave me strict instructions to use my wheelchair and stop struggling.  Gp has said their priority and plan is too try to keep me driving. (but I'm going to have to really consider going to an automatic or possible hand controls) but for them this is important as it will help me to keep my independence. And to try and keep me working. But if I'm honest with myself I'm really struggling at work. Even when I'm on lighter duties. So there maybe a possibility I have to stop work alot sooner than I ever anticipated. My body has gone into fatigue most probably from trying to push and cope with the pain I've been in. I'm currently taking a concoction of pain meds tramadol naproxen and paracetamol. I'm not sleeping due to pain. And to be honest I'm just completely exhausted and wiped out.

I cried when I ended the phone call. I'm devastated to be truely honest with you. I'm still feeling very emotional and fragile. I always say. I was born with it. I'll die with it. What happens in-between is down to me. Despite the fact that I feel like I've been hit by a truck. And accepting that this is happening isn't going to be something I get over overnight. (I've obviously had this in the past too but never at such speed that I'm going down hill this time). My plan right now is too stay as independent as possible and stop caring about what people think when they see me in my chair.
On a positive note over the last few weeks although I have gained 2-3 stone over the last 3 years I am still able to transition myself from my wheelchair to the sofa etc.
I'm obviously going to have to stop being so stubborn and ask for help in the form of asking my GP for an OT referal. I have a bath seat so I'm able to shower with some help bringing my legs over the bath. But there are other areas I need more support.

The upshot is I can no longer weight bare on my left leg. Which is putting strain on my right side. And the rest of my body.

Time to listen to my body. And put my health first.

I want to stay working as long as possible but realistically I'll be lucky if im still working at Christmas. They don't want to put me on anything stronger for pain. And I can't use my chair in the job I do. There are many times at work I go to toilet and cry because of the pain despite taking pain killers every hour or two throughout my shift.

I'm sorry I've rambled and it probably doesn't make much sense. I'm not sure what help we would be entitled to if I stopped work. But for now my plan stays the same . Obviously if I have to stop work then.we will have to review the situation. And set up a new plan.
Financial there isn't much to update. We are on track this month so far.
    Have a lovely day everyone.

Love hugs and positivity to you all

  • Hi guys.
I'm feeling stronger today mentally. But physically I'm still exhausted. Both my legs are in absolute agony. I've taken the maximum amount of painkillers throughout this morning. They have not even took the edge off. I'm in my chair. I'm going to order some crutches so I can try and stay mobile but take the pressure off my left leg and some of my right leg. The gp said it's my cp deteriorating but I was told my CP will only deteriorate with age. Along with my left leg getting worse I have obviously hit a bad patch which is why im feeling so exhausted and in so much pain! Thank the lord for makeup 🙂

    Finances are on track.

Tonight Im going to do some youT_be videos and editing.

I also need to do some more decluttering and get the house better organized. We also need to move a few things to make it more accessible now I'm more reliant on my chair. I can get everywhere down stairs as I've regularly used my chair in the past but it's awkward at certian places.

The major hurdle I have at the moment is the stairs. I've had to go up and down before on my bum but it would normally be a few weeks and then I wouldn't be so bad and I could manage the stairs as long as I took it cArefully and one step at a time holding on to both bannisters, but Going up and down on my bum almost everyday since July is causing my arms to ache alot more.

It is what it is and I'm trying to adapt as I always have done. But as said previously I think it's time to ask for some aids to help me and hopefully I won't have to struggle so much

Anyway today I have tried to rest as much as I can. It's a new day tomorrow and as each day passes I'm learning easier ways to do stuff (even after 28 years you always find new ways and easier ways)
Love hugs and positivity to you all
