Welcome on board Millymouse :hello:
Well done on your loss tighteningthebelt, I'll be interested in how your onions turn out, I occasionally make Deli@'s thick onion tart but would prefer to make individual sized ones and never thought to batch cook onions and keep in the freezer
Its rained practically non-stop all morning, I did a quick sainbobs run early doors, they are the only sm whose crusty bread I like - in every other shop they seem to be soooo doughy and sit like a brick in my stomach. The plan is for a carpet picnic or meze in front of the tv tonight, there will be a treat of a glass of wine or two involved but will primarily involve:-
Baba ghanoush
Hummus
Tabbouleh
Spiced up turkey patties
Crusty bread
Grapes & pomegranate seeds
An elastic waistband may be required :rotfl:Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Sept Grocery spends = £304.88
Oct - Grocery spends = £ 16.590 -
Thank you all for the welcome. I have started today but will start posting from Monday on the first of the month. Weighing in today at 11st 9lbs. Thanks again0

There can be a big difference between the supermarket bread depending on the flour additives used, I suppose?

I only got half the shopping I needed today because drunken idiot men were fighting in the shopping centre so i thought it best to leave just in case it escalated further.
Today i had...
Oat bran.
Raw cauliflower, carrot, tomato and celery, cottage cheese on wholemeal toast.
Boiled egg, toffee apple. a frozen chocolate truffle (from box of chocolates)0 -
Hope you all have had a good weekend, its been a very chilled out kind of a day in Need2bthriftyland, enjoying the radio whilst doing some menu planning and cooking for the week/freezer. Rustled up some muffin sized crustless quiches for breakfasts/lunches which used up some of the "borderline" veg, the rest I have hopefully managed to incorporate in the weekly plan.
Still using up some of yesterdays leftovers and will continue to do so for the next couple of days, today I got through
B - baba ghanoush, crusty bread
L - muffin sized quiche x 2, tabbouleh
D - sc gammon, stir fry kale, chilli & red onionJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Sept Grocery spends = £304.88
Oct - Grocery spends = £ 16.590 -

Snapveg containers were raided this afternoon to make a minestrone type soup and mini crustless quiches, I also added some bacon to both. The soup contained about 10 different types of veg and seeing I had the time it was cut into a small dice
I was good so apples and blackberries were stewed and not crumbled
B-
L - cheese on toast, tomatoes and cucumber
D - minestrone soup followed by blackberries and apple
S - packet of crisp, fibre one brownie, mini quicheLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Hiya, your mini quiches sound so good.
B -
L - small jacket with tuna, little mayo, few cherry toms
T - corned beef hash (made by my lovely dad) with loads of red cabbage and a square of millionaires shortbread
S - half a banana
Food delivered today, we have made 7 portions veg soup and frozen 6. Have also made up 5 pots jelly.
Nearly time for the shiny new challenge! Exciting!!A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it

After a fabulous 2 week holiday in Italy at the start of the month it's fair to say I have well and truly fallen off the wagon and need to get myself back in the right mindset and back to good habits.
I weighed myself this morning and I'm several pounds heavier than a month ago but considering what I've eaten recently I was expecting a lot worse.
Anyway I'm definitely ready to get on board with a new challenge.
Thank you very much for all your work on this thread Brambling. Can we persuade you to start another for the next 3 months?0 -
I may have failed dismally and be nearly a stone heavier than I was at the start of this challenge but I'm 4.5lb lighter than I was this time last week so hopefully I can keep it going and do better for the final quarter of the year.
Brambling Thank you so much for all your hard work. I may not have been dieting at all but knowing that there are people who can fully understand why "just eat less" is the most pointless advice in the world has really helped me with not beating myself up too much about it.0
