  • Morning all, WI this evening, had a virtually carb free week which will hopefully counteract the off piste day last Saturday.

Saw GP yesterday, my gut instinct was wrong about diabetes as blood sugar level was fine. Got to have more bloods done this evening as the original test was showing elevated white blood cells. He said it is probably because of the gout, this test will give more info. Was thinking about it when I got home, weightloss has been pretty stagnant since beginning of year, regularly have swollen glands which is indicative of infection, the build up to the gout would have taken some time, so hopefully, this test will confirm that all is finally well and weightloss kicks in properly again.

While never eat the skin....understand it is the skins on kiwi's that get things going, also drinks lots of water say it helps, I was told this my consultant when I was unwell with tummy trouble.

It's old recipe, think it was from about 2010 by a poster who doesn't post any more. Her name was something like MrsMacCawber. Funnily enough I just tried to find it again to what date it was but can't find it now!

Sue Good luck with the trump soup, LOL!

Vegastare ugh! Don't think I could bear the texture of the kiwi skin. I have enough trouble with peach skin, LOL! Going for a walk gets me needing to go!

WI was better than expected this morning. Said to the WI lady I'd be happy with an STS and when it came up she said "bounus - you've lost half". Well pleased with that after being pumped with fluids yesterday plus having a very syn heavy long weekend starting Thursday :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

    Today's plan:

B - melon & quark; after WI more melon so had about a 1/4 of a melon and very nice it was too
L - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast (DH had 1 slice with the eggs and 1 slice with beans as finds 2 slices with eggs too much :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
D - Braised beef, chickpeas, onions, carrots with mash and a green veg probably broccoli if I've got any in the freezer (need to check!)

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - not sure but will find something

Sorry GTQ I didn't see your post until after I'd posted. Hope WI goes well for you. You deserve it going virtually carb free all week! I just couldn't cope without the carbs. The odd day I've done SP I've really missed them.

Hope the blood tests find out what the problem is. Increased white cells usually indicates infection so should be reasonably easy to sort out if that is what it turns out to be.
